iZombie (CW) -- Season 3 Thread -- premieres 4/4/17
YOUR FAVORITE ZOM-COM-ROM-DRAM IS BACK FOR SEASON 3 - Liv (Rose McIver) has discovered there are more zombies living in Seattle than she previously believed. In fact, there's a private military contractor employing a small zombie army, and that army is preparing for the day humans learn of their existence. Major (Robert Buckley) was exonerated for the crimes of the Chaos Killer, but is still considered a pariah. He manages to land a job with the one and only place that will hire him. Meanwhile, Blaine (David Anders) is accused of lying. Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli and Aly Michalka also star. Dan Etheridge directed the episode written by Rob Thomas (#301). Original airdate 4/4/2017.

So glad this is returning. I had just about given up. The promos have made it look just as much "brain porn" as it was last season.

A much more subdued pro zombie group than I thought we would see given the end of last season. The ended to S2 made it seem like S3 would start out like a random Resident Evil movie with the entire world in a panic.
Yet what we got was more like an Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters x-man knock off vibe. Odds are that's better for the show being I honestly had no idea how a CW comedy/drama was going to pull off a zombie war.
As for the ep, just sort of getting viewers back up to speed sort of filler but that's to be expected. Clearly we will get back to the new brain of the week in the next ep.
randomness: I know Law and Order has been off the air for years now but it's nice to see Aly Michalka keeping up the TV rules of all female DA's being ridiculously attractive.

Me too. I was also very confused. Hard to keep track of some shows with so many months in between. I found this a disappointing episode.

I think we'll get there, I don't trust the lady with a private zombie army not to use it.

Zombie War, The Brain of the Week
At least he put it in there. Sometimes you guys drive me nuts with random initialisms.

It was a fun premiere.
I was trying to figure out where I remembered Vivian Stoll (Andrea Savage) from. She looked really familiar.
Turns out she's playing the new President on Veep.
I don't know how I feel about Peyton and Blaine being a couple. I did find it amusing that they had him sing all those current pop songs.

Renewed for a 4th season
This show doesn't really spark much talk here, but I enjoy it every week. It doesn't take itself too seriously and is fun.

Yeah, I love this show. Even when it's only so-so like the most recent episode, it is still very entertaining.

I'm afraid I had to give this show up. It makes me sad because the first two seasons, particularly the second, were so good.

I was watching the most recent episode on the CW app and about 15 minutes into the episode when it's playing ads it plays an ad for next week's episode basically spoiling the huge plot points of the episode I'm watching. Thanks CW!

Re: iZombie (CW) -- Season 3 Thread -- premieres 4/4/17
This show has taken a darker tone for the last couple of episodes and has ended on some serious cliff-hangers. The episodic elements that drove the show have been taking a back seat to the continuing storylines. Apparently, tonight's season finale will seriously change things up. I'm not crazy about the zombie commando plot, -Max Rager, Fillmore Graves, and all that. Apparently they want to move toward making zombies an identified class/culture, much as "Supergirl" treats its aliens (though hopefully to better effect, and not just as a shallow "Immigration" metaphor).
On a side note, they've found a reason in the plot to have Rose McIver's "Liv" to tart herself up with make-up and a longer blond wig and look like an attractive human rather than a quirkily attractive zombie. I wonder if that's to better sell the show, or make Rose happy, or just a random development.

Re: iZombie (CW) -- Season 3 Thread -- premieres 4/4/17
Interesting direction to take the show for the next season.
I remember say that at the end of last season too. It's kind of cool to see a show willing to take these huge gambles with over all story line changes. Being it would be rather easy to just keep falling back on a killer of the week until the show got canceled.
that said the fade away epilogue like end to the season hinted that this was going to be a Seattle issue to solve on it's own. As if it was just some sort of city wide trash collector strike. Where as I'm thinking there would be a huge federal level response with in 72 hours.
nice random cinematic gym location by the way. Maybe that's just what small schools have in Vancouver but still, that looks great for filming. All my local highschools are just a big box.

Here's what Rob Thomas says about Seattle in regards to the next season's plotline....
TVLINE | Having the citizens of Seattle — and the rest of the country — learn about zombies really opens up the world of the show. What are you excited to explore with that?
Oh my God, the whole thing! It’s going to be a radical change. Zombie-ism is out in the open, so it’s going to be the top news story in the world. Seattle just became, effectively, a nuclear power. In fact, each of the 10,000 zombies now living in Seattle is its own sort of nuclear threat, if he or she wanders out of the city and scratches someone. I’m really interested in playing the dynamic of humans and zombies trying to live side-by-side. It’s going to create all sorts of issues this coming season.
Liv and Clive are still going to be solving murders, but now they’ll be solving cases of murdered humans. Fillmore Graves will have their own detectives solving cases of murdered zombies. All of the detectives in the Seattle homicide division will have their own zombies helping them solve murder cases because they all understand the benefits of being able to use the memories of murder victims.
It’s all going to feel very different. It’s going to feel a lot like West Berlin — God, we’ve used a lot of analogies — [and] like every day, you’re in the middle of the Cuban missile crisis. There’s going to be politicians across the globe wanting to nuke Seattle. Essentially, Seattle is holding a half million humans hostage. If you want to kill the 10,000 zombies in Seattle, you have to kill half a million innocent humans, too.
