Yeah, don't care for Pimento either although I also hatted Raffi from The League so maybe it's just the actor

VINDICATION!

Holt had some good lines in this ep. And yeah Pimento stinks.

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine (FOX) -- Season 4 Thread -- premieres 9/20/16

I wonder if Jason Mantzoukas is bored playing the same character on different shows.

Really weird scene setup. They arrive at the pawn shop to discover it's burned - and while sitting in the car, Pimento moans about it and says it's a sign and that the wedding is off and cut to commercial. Back from commercial and while out of the car, Pimento again just discovered the pawn shop is burned and and says that the wedding is off. I get you might want to recap the information from before the commercial - but why repeat the scene in a different way to achieve it? It's especially weird when watching the show without commercials.

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine (FOX) -- Season 4 Thread -- premieres 9/20/16

Had a Brooklyn Nine-Nine thing going today. Watched the last two episodes of this season via the DVD-R.
Then I checked my email and got a email from Hulu promoting Thanksgiving Day episodes of shows they offer. A Brooklyn Nine-Nine one was listed so I watched it.
Then right now, I'm watching a special on Dustin Johnson and his win at the US Open Golf Tournament. Whose narrating the special? Andre Braugher.

Goofy things like the opener and imitating Holt eating a Marshmallow are great.

I loved the stuff with Jimmy Smits, but Pimento can't leave fast enough for me.

I guess I'm the only one who likes Pimento.

Thought Smits was perfect casting as Santiago's dad. Holt eating a marshmellow was awesome and while it was hilarious, why on earth would anyone think having a live turkey inside of an apartment would be a good idea is beyond me.

What I don't get is how sitcoms often have the Thanksgiving host start cooking the turkey only when the guests arrive. Are the guests expected to wait 2.5 to 4.5 hours (depending on the size of the turkey) while it's cooking? Worse in B99's case as the turkey still needed to be killed, plucked, cleaned, etc. first before the long cooking process.

Probably the best episode of the season so far

I assume this one was shown out of order as they went off of nights a few weeks ago.

Correct. Sepinwall talked about it in his recap. It got bumped b/c the World Series went 7. They had to air the next two before this one because Pimento came back the episode before the Thanksgiving episode.

The opening with Jake sliding across the floor was freaking hilarious.

The entire Jake/Terry story was funny from beginning to end. Loved young Terry referring to himself in the third person

For some reason, I laughed hardest at the way Rosa chuckled at Amy getting fired for agreeing with Kevin on the Monty Hall problem.

Except for Marshawn Lynch I thought part 1 was great. Doug Judy is starting to feel a little played out, but I always love Holt and Peralta in the field together.

Laos.

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine (FOX) -- Season 4 Thread -- premieres 9/20/16

I saw the commercial pushing Marshawn Lynch being in the episode, but it really turned out to be pointless. It was as lame as the crossover episodes.

So I guess there'll be a new story line for Gina now?

Anyone notice in the background, Scully passing Hitchcock a piece of paper on a stick and binder clip?
It was right after Jake and the Captain entered the event.

I'm glad Lynch wasn't in there for very long.

Is there something about them [passing that or is it just another
wierd thing that they do?

Also Craig Robinson is gigantic.

PS I didnt even realize this was a 1 hr ep. Love the show and what's up with the end did they just kill off.....

Looks like that was the "mid-season" finale. I think it won't be back on for a few months.

Stephanie Beatriz (Rosa) was on @Midnight with Chris Hardwick the other day. I'd never heard her real voice, as Rosa's is kinda deep and quiet. She's also been on a few episodes of Modern Family as Gloria's sister, but spoke Spanish, or with an accent. I couldn't find a good clip from the Hardwick show, but I found another interview she did last year.
