24 hours after watching the finale and I'm truly sure it was a brilliant twist. Plus, hearing Eleanor note, in the middle of figuring out the big secret, "Side note: I might legit be into Tahani" cracked me up.

Tahani's expression during that confession was pretty solid too.

Because of this forum I binged on this show and am caught up.

This is a very fun show and the twist was nice. Also agree that Jason is the weakest link. Don't want anymore DJ flashbacks.

If there is a next season I'm going to have to remember to extend the DVR recording a minute or two. Of the many shows we record, this is the only one that ever got cut off. Multiple times.

Phew, was worried about this one.

Ah, rich people like it:

“The Good Place” has also generated a strong upscale audience, indexing at a 135 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes (with 100 representing an average concentration of those homes).

Great news on the renewal and it being only a 13 episode season. Shorter is better these days. Hopefully this time they can find a way to run them from beginning to end without a large break in between. If not for my DVR I would have never known when the last S1 episodes were finally going to air and get them recorded.

Cool, though it'll be a very different show next season.

The one thing I was surprised about with the twist was that it was only the four of them. All that for just them?

My wife hated the Jason character. She thought it was crap that men got all of this eye candy on the show and this part would have been perfect for a hot stupid funny guy a la a Joey Tribbiani type or the dude from True Blood. Jason wasn't attractive or funny. He was just too aggressively stupid.

Wow, color me surprised. I haven't followed the ratings but my gut said that there wasn't a chance in hell there would be a second season.

My gut has been fired.

The should have said The Good Place was cancelled. Then announced a replacement show called The Bad Place.

They should add quotes around the title, "The Good Place"

Networks are pretty reluctant to rename shows. At the least, it'll mess with DVRs.

^^^

Aqua Teen Hunger Force renamed their show every season for like the last 3 or four seasons. Seemingly with no other reason than to fuck with peoples DVRs.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever watched those.

I never said it wasn't done, I said networks seem reluctant to do it. The CW seems to be suffering from this recently, with both Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex Girlfriend having titles no longer accurate to the current state of the characters. I think Prison Break suffered from this, to the extent that the show actually put them in more prisons to break out of.

It'd also make it hard when releasing it to syndication and streaming, since they prefer a single unified title. Shows that did have a name change often have the older episodes retitled to fit the new show name (See "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" being renamed "Saved by the Bell" and older episodes being syndicated under that name).

I suspect "The Good Place" may ultimately serve as a good title for the series overall, since I feel the show's arc will ultimately be about the characters getting to The Good Place.

They could do something like what Man Seeking Woman does for the Woman Seeking Man episodes (they literally just swap the title around, and leave the rest alone) if they want to do anything like that.

Cartoon Network hates people with DVRs. Or they're incompetent. Or both.

Just started watching Season 1 of this, and I really enjoy it. Such a different premise than most shows, very funny at times, and always interesting.
