I think it's interesting that they cast a 33 year old as a Gen Xer. Millennials are typically classified as born in the the early 80's. I was born in November of 1983 and I'm 32 and I'm classified as one so I would think a 33 year old would be a millennial too... Also, they cast 35% of the cast from California. That's pretty lazy casting....

I'm not a big fan of this season's theme. Like the "collar" season, viewers are probably going to be beaten over the head with it.

Isn't that kind of typical Survivor casting? Lots of Californians ... lots of professions that are transparent covers for aspiring models/actors.

Wow ... Rachel in that bikini in the group picture I wonder what exactly she "recruits"?

Only thing worse than the Millennial and Gen-X labels themselves is them being used as yet another lame Survivor casting stunt. Looks like we at least got a far more attractive cast than last year. Which considering one of teams was supposed to be beauty shows just how ridiculous their casting has become.

Generally, -at least its been the case in the past, -they cast first, and then try to fit a concept to what they have.

1984 is the break I've seen most often for millennials. I'm sure there's a little wiggle room.

I've seen completely different years. I've seen anywhere from 1980-1983 as the millennial start date. I haven't seen 1984.

Not sure which is worse. A theme based on totally arbitrary terms like beauty or these ridiculous, made up, undefined Gen "Letter" and Millennial BS. Makes me long for one fo the seasons where at least the theme is bringing back former players that we have at least some interest in, good or bad.

I think "Generation X" is broadly defined as people born in range from the early 60s to late 70s, with 1970 being the median, so a fifty year-old Gen-Xer isn't an outlier.

Really?! I haven't kept up with Survivor much in a while. But the above cast looks pretty rough. The only one who is close to being attractive is Jessica.

Really! I tastes either vary in a big way or you haven't seen the recent decline, including last season (blech!)

Last year might've been an all time low in terms of eye candy. This cast isn't much better though.

I guess older folks vs young folks was a less catchy theme? Or over 32 vs under 32?

Probst would never do this. As soon as they are shuffled up TC's are going to be hammered with this and how the two generations interact
