I think is an example of superhero show oversaturation
Any new show really has to be top notch to gain traction

Re: Marvel’s Runaways (Hulu) -- premieres 11/21/17
made myself watch the first 3 episodes to give this show a chance
It is not good. way too slow moving, annoying in many ways
I might watch the next few episodes on fast forward just to see if anything cool finally happens
looks like heaps of people are watching lol

I'm a fan of a nice slow burn but this is very slow moving even for my tastes. I will say the cast is likable for the most part. Thats usually hard to pull of with any show/movie largely peopled with teen characters.

Two episodes in, and I like it! FWIW, I've read the Vaughn run of the books, though it was a while ago. The show feels a bit darker and more intense, and it might be missing some of the more fun elements of the book, but it still works pretty well, and it's really well done for a TV show. The casting is pretty spot-on. I'll keep watching...

I watched the first episode last night on Hulu, and I like it a ton so far. Some flashes of power, some real evil beneath the surface, give me that SLOWWWWW burn. If I wasn't sick and needed to get to work today, I would have been happy to watch 2 or 3 episodes in a row easily. Like-able main cast (except for maybe purple hair lady) all around. Much better than Inhumans or Shield, that's for damn sure.

Re: Marvel’s Runaways (Hulu) -- premieres 11/21/17
I just glommed onto the fact that as a Sprint customer I get Hulu for free (I first posted my happiness over this discovery in the Sell Me On Hulu thread), so I went Hulu binge crazy the past couple days and watched the first 4 episodes of the show...so far I am loving it. As noted, the casting is spot-on and unlike the comics where I felt the parents got short shrift I really enjoy learning more about the parents.
It is at times a very slow burn and some will rightfully criticize the show noting that not much happens on some episodes (or for a good chunk of an episode), which is a fair observation but as someone who is not always the biggest fan of shows that do not breeze by in an hour (and my free Hulu comes with commercials, so the episodes are indeed a full hour) I have to say I am loving it so far. It really helps that I do not want to scream at the characters regarding their actions.
Finally, any time Old Lace (they need to name her on the show) interacts with the kids is just so wonderful and I even enjoyed the scene where the parents stumble onto their kids discovery of her. I am excited that I will be pretty much caught up with the show by the end of this weekend...this and The Handmaid's Tale are what had me itching to finally get back onto Hulu again (many years ago I used a paid version of Hulu), but I was loathe to spend more money on my tv habit, so thanks Sprint!

This show got worse from episode to episode (with the finale having some of the worst moments of the season) and all the potential from the pilot was squandered with bad writing and characterization. I don't know who read the fantastic comic series and then said let's make 70% of the show revolve around the completely uninteresting parents. I had high hopes for a Runaways tv series but yeah I'm not watching anymore of this.

I made it to episode 7 hoping it would get better, but this show is just crap. The slow pace storyline is bad enough, but the production and wooden performances from the kids just sink it for me. It has the look and feel of a cheesy 90s era syndicated show like Stargate or Xena. Feels like they just thought slapping the Marvel label on it would be a gold mine.

Wow...so it sounds like I am in the minority as I enjoy the show. I was a fan of the Runaway's comic from the very first issue and I think the show did a good job with casting so the actors/actresses look like their comic counterparts, and I also think the visualization and use of their powers is actually really well done (what little we get of it, yes...I would like to see more use of their powers on the show).
I am on the last episode and plot holes aside I eagerly look forward to its second season.

Marvel’s Runaways will resume running away on Friday, Dec. 21, when all 13 episodes of the comic book-based drama release on Hulu.
Starring Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer and Gregg Sulkin… Allegra Acosta, Annie Wersching, Ryan Sands, Angel Parker, Ever Carradine and James Marsters… Kevin Weisman, Brannagh, James Yaegashi, Brittany Ishibashi, Kip Pardue and (whew!) Julian McMahon, and executive-produced by co-showrunners Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, Season 2 picks up with the Runaways having left their homes (and evil parents) behind and now struggling to learn to live on their own.
To that latter end, the kids will set up shop on the comic books’ infamous hostel, which in the TV series has been conceived as a lavish mansion that got swallowed up by “a mudslide or an earthquake,” Savage told TVLine during our visit to the new set this month, and now is buried beneath Griffith Park.
As the Runaways scavenge for food, search for shelter, and take care of one another, they begin to realize that, for better or worse, they’re stuck with each other. And it’s up to them to take down PRIDE once and for all. But someone has sent a mysterious message to PRIDE overlord Jonah. Is there a mole among the kids? PRIDE, meanwhile, is focused on finding their children, all as Jonah works through a dangerous plan in his mind.
Also revealed during this month’s set visit, Season 2 specifically picks up only 24 to 36 hours after the events of the Season 1 finale. Schwartz also teased that there will be “a reference,” late in the season, “that will probably be our first real breadcrumb that connects us to the MCU, in some way.”

I still haven't checked this out. Seems like the comments here are mixed.

Dex, I believe Freeform is going to be airing the first season so you do not have to have Hulu to give it a shot.

Season 2 drops on Friday. It looks like they are putting the whole season out this time instead of weekly.

I just finished Ep 02 of S2. The show is pretty slow and boring. I think I'm going to drop it.
Decided to stick with it. Every single adult in this show is human garbage. I mean, every one, even the ones with bit parts.

Re: Marvel’s Runaways (Hulu) -- premieres 11/21/17
In an action-packed Season 3, the Runaways frantically search for their captured friends Chase, Gert, and Karolina. The kids go head to head with an unstoppable enemy who has targeted Leslie -- or more accurately, the child she's carrying. Nico draws them all into a dark realm where its ruler Morgan le Fay, played by Elizabeth Hurley, is much more nefarious than anyone the kids have yet to face.
