Re: 2016 Emmy Nominations
I'm surprised that Jane Krakowski wasn't nominated for UKS. Vera Farmiga was snubbed. I thought Cuba Gooding Jr, David Schwimmer, and John Travolta were the weak links of The People vs. OJ.

Re: 2016 Emmy Nominations
Nothing against the other nominated comedies but I hope "black-ish" wins a bunch this year. This season was pretty great.
On the drama side, while I haven't watched the latest season of Orphan Black, I do hope Tatiana Maslany gets her due.

Re: 2016 Emmy Nominations
I really hope Courtney B. Vance wins for the People vs. OJ Simpson. He was fantastic. Same goes for Sterling K. Brown.
I think OJ is practically a lock for limited series win. Fargo's second season was well reviewed, but it really didn't have the same kind of buzz as OJ did.

That said TJ or Zach Woods should have gotten in over Andre Braugher or Tony Hale who are basically on autopilot with their roles now.

The Americans!
And the first time that The Good Wife shows up is in the Guest categories.
Very happy to see the increased presence of the former, and the decreased presence of the latter.

Re: 2016 Emmy Nominations
The Americans gets recognized! Fucking finally!
Still wish they had found room to nominate Noah Emmerich and/or Dylan Baker in the Supporting Actor category, but still it's nice to know that at least Emmy voters are aware the show exists* now that Breaking Bad and Mad Men are off the air.
* excluding Margot Martingdale. The voters are certainly aware she's on The Americans, no matter how briefly she appears, she always gets a nod

Re: 2016 Emmy Nominations
I hope The Americans wins for Best Drama as I can't get any of my friends/family to watch it (I hope I can sway them with, "Come on the show just won an Emmy!", as its the most underrated show on TV. Keri Russell really deserves Best Actress as I thought she had a strong season, and to me is the centerpiece of the show. Matthew Rhys is great too.

Re: 2016 Emmy Nominations
Considering that Tatiana Maslany is the best actor working on TV today full-stop, she more than deserves the nomination and the win.

Re: 2016 Emmy Nominations
Looking through those nominations : Look, I'm the biggest People vs OJ Simpson fan out there, but there is NO WAY ON EARTH that Cuba Gooding Jr is 1) the lead actor on that show or 2) more deserving of a nomination that Patrick Wilson's brilliant, steady lead performance in Fargo Season 2. Hard to figure how that selection happened. People vs OJ was fantastic in spite of Cuba Gooding's performance, not because of it.

Re: 2016 Emmy Nominations
I swear, Howard Gordon must have nude pictures of Emmy voters or something. How Homeland keeps getting Best Drama nods is totally beyond me.
Would have liked to see You're The Worst get some recognition, but realized that one was a longshot.

Man, that Limited Series category is crazy. I haven't seen Roots (or even heard of it), but the rest of those were all amazing. You could make an argument for all...but I'd lean to People vs OJ. Best show I've seen so far this year.

Even though I'm new to The Americans (only started the show this year and caught up at the season finale), I think it deserves all the accolades and hope it wins.

Re: 2016 Emmy Nominations
It's funny - in December it was a slam-dunk that Fargo would be walking away with all the Emmys this year. Then the freight train called People vs OJ Simpson came along and Fargo is almost an afterthought. Damn you FX and all your quality programming!

I'd take that bet in a heartbeat. Sarah Paulson wins Best Actress, going away. She's more of a lock than Julia Louise-Dreyfuss is. It's a shame since Dunst did great work, but Paulson was positively iconic.
