Ryders name drew me in initially, but she was indeed a complete non factor..

I've watched 5 and yeah, though child actors often end up ruining it for me, these are pretty much all fantastic. Their acting is incredible, and this show is better than tons of junk on "regular TV" IMO.

Finished this last night. Yeah, it held up really well for the 8 episodes. I like that it told a nice complete story (like a King/Koontz novel from the period), though leaving a snippet open for a sequel (but if a sequel never did happen, that would be perfectly fine). Unlike the "stuffed everything but the kitchen sink" pacing of American Horror Story seasons this felt just like a fun book come to life (which surely was the intent of the creators with the chapter headings for episodes).
There were enough ET nods that I'm glad they didn't:
About Steve:
The younger bullies didn't really think things through, did they?
Finally, as a former Dungeon Master I have some criticisms of Will

I really loved this. I hope the word is spreading--this deserves some recognition.

I always enjoy when filmmakers seemingly come out of nowhere to put out something great. Much like Nic Pizzolatto and Cary Fukunaga with the first season of True Detective, the Duffer Brothers just emerged from nowhere with an amazing season of television, pretty much from start to finish. I look forward to what they do in the future.
Does any broadcast network have as high of a hit-to-miss ratio as Netflix? They've put out lots of really good shows with not too many bad ones to sully the batting average. At the very least right there with HBO.

Apparently they quit their day jobs to do it, and I get the feeling they made the right choice.

I was able to resist watch the entire series in one day.
But I watched 3 episodes today.
And I will watch episode 8 tomorrow. My body is ready.
So far so good.

I dunno... Barb's disappearance is what motivated Nancy to get involved. So she wasn't totally ignored. It would have been nice to have a scene with her parents, though.

Finish episode six tonight and will watch the last two tomorrow. I liked it so far, I kind of thought that the actress playing Nancy looked like Mia Sara.

Finished it earlier today.
Finale wasn't great, but it was good. Not sure how it would have been great to me though.

Nancy was a bit of a twat and I did not care for her character at all. No, there were no bangable chicks except Winona Ryder and the other broad that played the other mother - I forget the name.
