Molly Parker and Parker Posey. Never can have too many Parkers.

I love the casting so far.

A female Dr. Smith since everything has to be changed nowadays.

BTW original show was a blast, Movie despite it's flaws was pretty good.

Tv show Robot, Best Robot Ever

Set 30 years in the future, colonization in space is now a reality, and the Robinson family is among those tested and selected to make a new life for themselves in a better world. But when the new colonists find themselves abruptly torn off course en route to their new home they must forge new alliances and work together to survive in a dangerous alien environment, light-years from their original destination. Stranded along with the Robinsons are two outsiders who find themselves thrown together by circumstance and a mutual knack for deception. The unsettlingly charismatic Dr. Smith (Posey) is a master manipulator with an inscrutable end game. And the roguish, but inadvertently charming Don West (Ignacio Serricchio) is a highly-skilled, blue-collar contractor, who had no intention of joining the colony, let alone crash landing on a lost planet.

Premieres April 13

Odd that this thread show sup and for some reason the last week or so, YouTube has been pushing various "lost in Space" and Billy Mumy Recommendations to me.

No. Not odd at all. That's targeted advertising.

I used to watch the old show as a kid. Never bothered to see the movie. I'll give this a shot.

Is anyone else concerned that a lot of modern sci-fi is focused on finding a new home because we fucked up this one?

That's been a theme in sci-fi for quite a while now. Overpopulation and resource depletion has been a worry for decades now. Not sure why that would cause concern.

Some folks have short memories... or are young.

I'm not looking forward to this reboot. I'm a big fan of the original series and absolutely detested the movie. The first season of LIS was serious scifi. And for the time it was quite something. I could look past the campiness of seasons 2 and 3 to some of the more subtle themes.

But when people think of Lost In Space (those who remember the original series), they only think of "Talking carrots" and don't take it seriously.

I'd like to be surprised and have this turn out decent... but there's a reason they chose the name "Lost In Space" rather than "Earth 2".

I don't remember any talking carrots. I'll have to look that up.

When I was a kid I loved this show. Watching it later as an adult in my early 20's it didn't hold up too well and all I wanted to do was kill Dr. Smith. Fuckin' asshole.

As someone who is well aware of the original series but never watched an episode I look forward to watching this relaunch. I also enjoyed the movie...not great, but entertaining enough and worth a viewing if it is on or hits Netflix or Hulu.

I do not remember watching the original One Day At A Time and look how the reboot worked out, yeah...willing to give this a shot.

Who can EVER forget....

Robot: Danger, Will Robinson! Danger!

Dr. Smith: Never fear, Smith is here.

Will Robinson seriously reminds me of the lame kid from the Walking Dead that got his mom killed a season or two back. The mom was Ricks gf.... Sam Anderson....
