What a misleading article. All he says is the plan was from the beginning to have the series last 70-75 hours and then "let's call it 73 for now" is what they're looking at. That's not a confirmation of anything.

Epic stories tend toward epic characters. Shakespeare didn't write about the peasants.

But also: Bronn, Gendry, Gilly, Roz, Osha, most of the Night's Watch. . .

Ok that's too much for me What else would they be besides aunt and Nephew?

Scab King had 3 kids by sister-wife and one of the kids had Jon.

So the sister-wife would be Jon's Grandma and Grand-aunt (and would Aerys be Grandpa and Grand-uncle?). Sister-wife is Dany's mother and aunt.

I still don't know what else it makes them Cousins?

Here's a handy Targaryen family tree from a deviantart user:

Spoiler:

(Spoilered for size.)

The characters from the series are mostly near the bottom.

Aegon V is "Egg"
His brother Aemon is the former maester of Castle Black.
Brynden Rivers is the Three Eyed Crow.
Robert Baratheon's grandmother was Rhaelle Targaryen, who married Onmund Baratheon.
Rhaegar Targaryen (married to Elia Martell) is the father of Jon Snow with Lyanna Stark.

Cersei said she wasn't going to die anytime soon. So.... brain eating is a relative quick death I would imagine.

Whatever he's doing to her.. I think by the time next season rolls around they will have had time to talk things out and they'll be married and drinking tea.

so, if I'm reading that right, Dany is the product of two generations of incest? She looks pretty good, considering.

That's just her parents and grandparents. There's more incest if you go back a few generations.

Getting to the "HBO-ness" of the series, but were there any sex scenes or brothel scenes in this season at all?

I still find it a bit odd that we've got 13-ish eps left ... and we still haven't really seen anything of Lannister home central: Casterly Rock

*But I guess according to Daenerys/Daario battle plans, we will finally be seeing it at some point in the future. Though it's still odd it hasn't shown up in full this far into the series.

No, but Pycell seems to always snag himself some nice trim.

I'm not sure how you're getting the idea of rape happening out of that scene. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't think rape was suggested at all.

My interpretation is FrankenMountain will be brutally torturing Septa Unella, dragging it out for a long time without killing her, and him take off his helmet is so that her seeing his scary-looking zombie face is only the first step in filling her with fear.

None of the characters we follow have been there during the story so far. All the Lannisters have mostly been at Kings Landing.

I think it was intentionally left unclear on that point. Could have been rape, could have been just torture. All we know for sure is that there was SHAME!

I was just thinking about all of the folks who loudly proclaimed they were quitting the show after those scenes with Sansa and Cersei. They missed some absolutely great television this season.

Re: Game of Thrones (S6E10) -- "The Winds of Winter" -- 6/26/16

So..they released the directors for the next season of GoT. I'll put it in spoilers just in case people don't want to know.

Spoiler:
The Directors for Season 7 are Alan Taylor, Jeremy Podeswa, Mark Mylod and newcomer Matt Shakman.

A pretty interesting list. I really don't know what the creators see in Mark Mylod. His episodes are usually the worst in their perspective seasons, so i'm hoping he does better next year. Alan Taylor directed some season 1 and 2 episodes, it's good to have him back. Jeremy Podeswa is a veteran and done several GoT episodes. Shakman is a little bit of a wild card, he has directed "Always Sunny" episodes along with "Fargo" and "The Good Wife," so it'll interesting to see what he brings to the table.

A little disappointed Miguel Sapochnik isn't directed an episode next year, but maybe they are holding him for the end run in Season 8. Also was hoping Jack Bender would make a return, but maybe his schedule didn't work out.
