Here is another one I read about today. Those things Sam saw in the Citadel/library match those in the opening credits.

I noticed that Ghost did not appear in either of the last two episodes. Apparently, he was left out for "budgetary reasons". I, for one, was glad for it. The Battle of the Bastards was tense enough without having to worry about whether he would survive every damn arrow volley.

Arya is already in the Riverlands where the Brotherhood operates and guess who is now conveniently heading south having been banished from Winterfell? Also of note is that The Hound is now with Thoros and Beric as well. Arya thinks he is dead, but she also removed him from the list and would seem to have at least a little qualified affection for. I think it is very safe to say that Arya's next story arc will involve Thoros, Beric, Sandor and Melisandre.

Hmm. Jon may be getting an Ygritte vibe here.

The show doesn't go into it much, but Robert's Rebellion wasn't really about putting Robert on the throne. He just wanted revenge for Lyanna. Ned wanted the same and revenge for his father and brother that were murdered by Aerys. And Tywin was slighted when he proposed a Rhaegar/Cersei marriage, and Aerys rejected it.
Robert was also the best compromise for king, since the Starks would never supports a Lannister, and the Lannsiters would never support a Stark.

Ah, Aemon What happened to Jim and Bob So Aegon is a descendant of Egg? He'd be Danaerys' nephew also and Jon's half-brother right?

No matter who’s on the Iron Throne, “Game of Thrones” continues to rule in ratings; HBO’s drama hit a series high for its Season 6 finale, drawing 8.9 million viewers in a pivotal episode that killed off several major characters and shook up the show’s political landscape forever.

There's two Aegons -- Aemon's brother, Aegon V was nicknamed Egg. He reined about 50-75 years before Robert's Rebellion and was the grandfather of the Mad King.
Rhaegar was the Mad King's son, and his own infant son -- killed by the Mountain -- was named Aegon as well.
There's some developments in the books regarding the younger Aegon's death
but the show seems to be leaving those out.

Looking through this thread it seems a lot of people are forgetting, or simply don't know, that Aerys' wife was also his sister. Daenerys and Jon are not just aunt and nephew.

The motto of House Martell of "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken" reflects the fact that Dorne never bent the knee due to be conquered.

sometimes all you people with backstory from the books are helpful. and other times all the backstory is just irrelevant noise.
