Favorite single episode of tv?
Seinfeld "The Betrayal" for me.
this was the episode where the entire episode happened in reverse. i, to this day, have revered this episode as my most favorite. it was just so brilliantly written from end to beginning. just a magnificent episode of tv.

"24" - Day 2: 1:00am - 2:00am
Airdate: April 3, 2003
Great opening shootout with an excellent music score accompanying it. And great closing scene with a nice little twist. Classic 24.

Unless there is an episode of some show that I don't know about where I am having sex with Jessica Alba, the premise of thinking this is a possible choice is ridiculous.

Yeah, that's up there for me along with the Train Robbery episode.
My favorite is probably Mad Men - The Suitcase. It was just about the most perfect character study ever.
And The Sopranos had so many masterpiece episodes, but College and Employee of the Month really hit me hardest.

-Mad Men (The Suitcase) is one of my favorite episodes of any Cable Drama, as the Don/Peggy scenes are gold.

-Seinfeld (The Contest) This episode was so ahead of its time, while still never mentioning the 'taboo word' that everyone was avoiding to win the contest is truly genius.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkklW7VEBHA
-Family Ties (4 Rooms Ocn VU) This was the episode that the Keaton parents go away for the weekend, and Alex, Mallory and Jennifer rent out the house for the weekend to all of the Alumni for a College Football Game.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIyPC4Lvz8s
-Cheers (I on Sports) Where Sam takes over as a Local Sportscaster for Fred Dryer, and does his infamous 'Groi-Groi-Groin Injury Rap' on one of the segments.

There are so many classic episodes of each show that I watch, as I will post when they come to me.

Re: Favorite single episode of tv?
There are a lot of great single episodes from TV shows such as The Prisoner (The Girl Who Was Death and Many Happy Returns being two), Alan Partridge (two words....Cheeky Monkey), Breaking Bad (very few, if any, bad episodes), The X-Files (first few seasons had loads of great episodes), The Larry Sanders Show (Hanks Sex Tape) and the Twilight Zone (The Burgess Meredith episode as a bank clerk, Shatner on the plane....loads of superb stories).
One that does stand out that comes to mind is the 80s version of the Twilight Zone. The episode where the woman finds a watch in her garden and she can stop time with it. At the end of the episode WWIII starts and she stops time, only to find a nuke about to hit the ground above her town. It was a brilliant episode.

I watched a lot of sitcoms, classic and recent, but I don't know if any of those episodes really stay with me like the dramas do. Seinfeld's "The Contest" is a classic, I could also find episodes from MASH, Cheers, Barney Miller, and others that I might consider.
