I liked Killam and not sure why his contract wasn't picked up. Pharoh on the other hand I can understand but there are still some unfunny guys left in the cast.

Taran Killam has been getting pretty good work outside of SNL. Never felt like he was 'stuck' on there.

The Obama stuff they have done the past 8 years has been basically worthless anyway. For whatever reason they flat out refuse to make any jokes at his expense, so his presidency has been basically off-limits other than to act as a straight man to set up gags on other political figures.
The 3 new faces joining the cast for 2016-2017.
Mikey Day was in a couple of sketches on the Maya Rudolph show.
On Monday, SNL welcomed Mikey Day, Alex Moffat and Melissa Villaseñor to the cast. Day, an SNL writer since 2013 and a veteran of the Groundlings, will move from the writer's room to on-screen talent for Season 42. Moffat, a cast member and writer on the Lorne Michaels-produced variety show Maya & Marty, will also take his talents to Studio 8H for the show's upcoming season.
Villaseñor is also no stranger to NBC as the Los Angeles-based comedian was a Top 16 finalist on the sixth season of America's Got Talent, where her impeccable celebrity impressions resonated with viewers. Villaseñor would be only the third – following Horatio Sanz and Fred Armisen – SNL cast member with Latin roots, and the series' first ever Latina player,

Bullshit. No one's afraid.
They probably don't make fun of Obama because 1. Obama is boring as fuck for a Politician..NO SCANDALS or blowjobs by interns in his office(at least none that we know of) 2. Maybe, just maybe...They actually LIKE HIM. Most of the stuff I've seen has been clever stuff that pokes at his cool cat demeanor.
And I say that as a guy who never voted for him.

You are probably right.
I don't hate Obama and I would rather have him serve a third term than these two clowns we have running in the 2016 election.
He probably has good standing with most of the hosts since he has appeared on Fallon, Ellen, Kimmel, and other talk shows.
If you are Bush Jr or Clinton it is probably easier to make fun of them since they rarely do TV and they have a lot of baggage and issues you can make fun of lol.

Eight years and not a single joke made at Obama's expense? Sketch? Monologue? Weekend Update? Nothing. I guess it is possible that every moment of his presidency was utterly impervious to satire. The closest they might have come is "President Obama was criticized today, but we all know that the only people who do that are stupid racists." (pause for uproarious laughter and applause) One of the funnier things about SNL the past eight years is how conspicuously far they stayed away from the Obama rail. Compare that to, well, the 34 seasons of the show that came before.

Margot Robbie will host the premiere next Saturday. The Weeknd is the music guest.

Looks like Alec Baldwin will be playing Donald Trump. Do they expect him to do it for 4+ years though?
