Banshee (S4E08) -- Series Finale -- "Requiem" -- 5/20/16

Resolved to leave Banshee, Lucas learns that the murder case he thought was finally closed may in fact be opening again. After a tense faceoff with Calvin and the Brotherhood, Proctor looks to finalize his deal with the Colombians. Carrie takes aim at one final act of vengeance. Brock demands allegiance from Bunker (Tom Pelphrey) as Banshee braces for an uncertain future.

Written by Jonathan Tropper; directed by Ole Christian Madsen.

That's all she wrote. Final episode tonight.

If you watch The Blacklist, Ulrich Thomsen (Proctor) has moved on to that show and is their big baddie now.

End of an era. The best show of the 10's imho. Fingers crossed it goes out on top.

That's right, someone blew up your drugs.
Brock has become one of the best characters on the show.

The butler did it, seriously? Haha

Nice to see it was at Proctor's hand that Burton met his demise.

Pretty brutal fight between Bunker and Calvin.

I wonder if this had gone another year, if Hood would have killed Proctor himself.

Banshee, Pennsylvania... suck my tit.

That was about as good of an ending as we could expect with how this show got fucked this season. Nice to see Hood get to say goodbye to everyone.

Absolutely loved the goodbyes after the show. Farewell, Banshee.

Hate to see it go, even with the crappy last season.

I can't help but be pissed that we wasted all season on the stupid serial killer plot only to find out it was a red herring.

How about Hood caving in Burton's face with all of those headbutts? Jesus.

Loved the show with my only two complaints are the cheesetastic cartoon satanic and skinhead stuff.

Should have replaced the Nazis with cartel and the satanic with a psycho relative of chayton. Not sure why they went so goofy on those two aspects.

Banshee, Pennsylvania suck my tit

Loved Proctor going out in a blaze of glory against the Cartel.

The final fight between Hood and Burton was brutal, especially with all those head butts. Ouch! Sucks that stupid serial killer arc ended up being a waste. Rebecca got killed because Burton was jealous and felt threatened by her.

That was a pretty emotional goodbye between Hood and Carrie. Too bad we never found out his real name.

That was a good wrap up for an otherwise disappointing season. Can't believe this show only lasted 38 episodes total. I liked the Banshee farewell segment after the episode. That was a nice touch.

Spectacular ending to a spectacular show. This is definitely in my top 10 of all time and if season 3 holds up on a second viewing it'll probably be top 5. Now if Cinemax would only green light the Veronica Dawnson spin-off and the spin-off where Job/Sugar go on Burn Notice style adventures I'd truely be happy. Also, Proctor lived. Boom!

A really solid ending to the show.
Anyone know what the lock combinations from the opening credits for this last season were about?

I'm okay with that but they did show a quick flash of his FBI rap sheet. Don't know if it's good enough to get a screen grab to see if it's legible.

End of an era indeed.

I thought the finale kept most of what the previous seasons were about, blowing shit up with bazookas, some post caper banter while speeding away, the understanding that to enforce law in banshee you have to take off the badge sometimes.

i think they ended with the emotional connections between all the characters being honored, and i was moved by the carrie hood parting.

I was also very okay with the more optimistic ending rather than the doom foretold by "this only ends one way"

i also do not think there will be another show like this. the mix of incredible action and non cheesy feelings is hard to recreate.

It was clips of each of the main characters wrapping shooting and saying a few words to the crew.

What? The torrent pirates forgot to add it. Sucks for you You should have gotten access to MaxGo.com if you have a friend who has Cinemax. There were little Banshee extras after the credits on each episode.

Was a good finale. I ended up glad the final season was shorter. The material just wasn't there.

Burton vs Nola officially the best fight in the whole series.

I honestly can't think of one better on any other series right now.

Just watched all 8 eps (since I didn't have Cinemax and had to wait to buy the season off amazon).
Overall the season was a major letdown for me. This final ep was OK I guess, esp. all the goodbyes. It was such a great show, but for me it was a shame the final season went the way it did.
Job's farewell comment was the best.

I finished this over the long weekend as well. I didn't have terribly high expectations going into the final season. However, it fared better than I thought it would. Started out slow and wasn't thrilled with the first few episodes, but the second half picked up. I thought the penultimate episode was the strongest; the finale was decent.

I'm pretty much in agreement with you. My biggest problem was the choice to have Hood turn into a big ball of self-pity for the first several episodes. The whole "climbing into the bottle because Life sucks" thing (and this is just a variant of that) has just become so trite and easy to me. I'd have liked it better if we started the season with him coming back from exile ready to make some kind of move and get a more developed plot going. I wasn't crazy about the season's handling of Carrie, but at least she was doing something.

I don't think they had enough episodes this year to have some of the key characters in down and out mode for at least half the season. Still, I didn't really care for season 3 either so I don't think this was a big letdown from that.

I watched the first four episodes on free preview, then bought the season digitally (no farewell segment ) and watched it in just about a day. It definitely wasn't the same show, but it had its moments. I have the final two seasons on digital but I'll probably get them on BD at some point.

Re: Banshee (S4E08) -- Series Finale -- "Requiem" -- 5/20/16

Finished this up yesterday. Yeah, the final send-offs were cool but you can tell they had to come up with something fast. It's like the makers of the show new early on that the 4th season would be the last, so they had to think of something fast. The satantic serial killer plot line was groan inducing even though I liked the actor that played the leader of the cult - he had a Bradley Cooper thing going.

The one thing that's bugging me is that the Brotherhood is still out there conducting business under the Senator's tutelage. They never ended that thread.

It was a great run and yes, the Burton vs. Nola fight was the best fight of the show. The Raid style.
