What I take from this and Weeds is that Kohan doesn't know when to end a show.

I'v watched the first 3 seasons and just don't have much enthusiasm to watch this upcoming season that I did the previous ones.

The early reviews for this season have been really strong (AV Club did a review of the full season, gave it an A), so I hope it holds up.

Watched the first episode this morning. I enjoyed more than most of last seasons episodes. I plan on watching more tonight at work

I've read a few comments that state the first episode is a little "too busy" and that it improves from there.

I liked the first ep-there was a lot going on, but not overly busy.

Been binging since this morning (save for some time when my meds knocked me out) ... Loving the new season. Seems they finally realized Piper really doesn't make a good "focus" character and have really spread the storylines around.

Somebody remind me what happened to Pornstache the second time around ...

I liked the first 3 episodes. Biggest problem so far is that there are to many characters. The added a bunch when they should have cut the cast down.

They always had a lot of characters and now we got a bunch of newbies. I would imagine they'll find a way to pare down the numbers. Hopefully.

spoiler'd because it's a comment if you've seen the first few episodes...
Spoiler:
Maybe the garden will get bigger :)

Anyone else find it absolutely idiotic that (spoilers up through ep 5)

Spoiler:
Alex's Assassin (who was an official CO) hasn't been reported missing? I'm talking about by the prison staff. Not even going to mention the Kubra side of things, since Alex magically never has a use for the cell phone again.

So much for that. I've already ran into a huge spoiler on Instagram :mad2: now I gotta binge this shit so i won't run into anymore. On the plus side, Lori Petty has been cracking me up.

This is the show's biggest failing. Piper is supposed to be our POV character, yet she is completely unrelatable and unlikeable. The show spends a good chunk of time fighting racism, yet relies on us liking Piper because she is the fish-out-of-water white princess. Everything goes her way just because it does, not because it should or because she earns it.

The fact that she (spoiler for episode 5 - I think)
Spoiler:
accidentally starts a white power group is absolutely hysterical though.

On that note, I love (same episode)
Spoiler:
when Piscatelli shoots her down and reveals his reason.

Re: Orange is the New Black (Netflix) - Season 4 Discussion Thread - premieres 6/17/1

She's really not the POV character anymore though. We're done being introduced to this environment in S1/S2.

Re: Orange is the New Black (Netflix) - Season 4 Discussion Thread - premieres 6/17/1

Yep. The show started as one thing (an adaptation of the book) and is now it's own self-sustained prison dramedy.

Finished the season. Thankfully the big spoiler was telegraphed in two prior episodes before it happened. But I'm still pissed. I can't believe, from now on, I have to watch 13 straight hours of this show just so shit won't get spoiled. Maybe it's time for netflix to experiment with a weekly episode for original content instead of all episodes at once. Hell, some of these idiots are probably just watching the season finale first.
