DC'S Legends of Tomorrow

"River of Time" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LV) (HDTV)

CAPTURED - After numerous attempts in many different time periods, the team has successfully captured Vandal Savage (guest star Casper Crump). However, Savage tells Kendra (Ciara Renée) that he can reunite her with Carter (Falk Hentschel) so she struggles with whether she should kill him. Rip (Arthur Darvill) decides they will deliver Savage to the Time Masters which doesn't sit well with Snart (Wentworth Miller) and Rory (Dominic Purcell). The duo decides it may be time to jump ship and return to their old life. Meanwhile, Savage taunts Ray (Brandon Routh) about his place in Kendra's life. Alice Troughton directed the episode written by Cortney Norris & Anderson Mackenzie (#114). Original airdate 5/5/2016.

Ray Palmer is so stupid he should be a character on Fear the Walking Dead.

Both Rip Hunter and Ray were idiots in this episode.

Ray for letting Vandal Savage get to him and then thinking he could kick his ass.

And then Rip for thinking he could trust the Time Masters. Really? These were the same people who wanted to kill you earlier in the season.

I did like Snart's line during that shootout:

"Leonard Snart, Robber of ATM's"

There's 2 episodes left. I really hope they wrap this Savage arc. Also, I wonder if Sara will ever find out that Laurel is dead. Probably saving that for the finale I presume.

That was painful to watch. Series started fine but it's dragging its butt toward the finale. Rip is a terrible leader. Hard to imagine how he was a prized time master. I winced when he told Savage about the pen. Really, you're going to be that stupid?

The only reason I watch this show and Arrow is in case there is a Flash crossover...

Any bets as to whether Savage founded the Time Masters? That would indeed be a long game. He's got an organization dedicated to stopping meddling in time, most importantly for him stopping time travelers trying to overthrow him (though perhaps not in the organization's charter per se) since once he rules the earth he can do so forever.

The thing about the pen, -The "Rip" that we've got doesn't seem like that character. The "Rip" we've got is very morose, and that seems more the move of a looser, less constipated character.

I don't get why TV show script writers go-to for advancing episode plots is always have characters act stupid. It gets old very quickly.

It's a smart guess but probably too intelligent for everything I've seen from LOT.

It saves a lot of screen time and gives characters a chance to redeem themselves later. They did write Ray as a very stupid, emotional character this episode.

If they return back to the moment they left, could they use this as a chance to save Laurel with Sarah having known how/when it happened?

Rip needs to get to the Vanishing Point as "quick as possible"? They're on a time ship aren't they?

Does them going to points in time alter everyone's time or just theirs ;)

I have a theory about this for time travel in general. I think if the change is small enough, it would be localized. But if it's something world-changing, like killing Hitler or Stalin, the future would change and a new timeline would branch off and begin.

;) I know your post was probably in jest, but thought I'd give you a straight answer.

The best part of the episode was Rip strapping himself in to fly the ship manually, but then Laurel and Martin were standing behind right behind him at the table, not strapped in.

None of this episode made much sense. The whole time travel thing changes from episode to episode. They need to have one set of rules and stick to it.

As quickly as possible in terms of how long he's on the Wave Rider.

The steady decline of this series really makes me hope it doesn't come back for a second season. A true cast of many unlikable characters (Carter, Shiera, Rip) and wasted/poorly written characters (Canary and Jefferson). At this point, I'd settle for Captain Cold and Weather Wizard hijacking the ship and giving them their own wacky crimes-through-time show.

The CW renewed Legends of Tomorrow for a second season back in March.

Has there ever been a renewal reversal? Ever? If not, this would be a good time to start. It's been on a downward spiral ever since the left the 50's.

On network TV, never from what I recall.

But on cable, yes. HBO cancelled The Brink and Luck after renewing them.

VH1 cancelled Hindsight after renewing it as well.

CW isn't going to cancel Legends of Tomorrow because some viewers are disappointed with it. It's the third highest rated show on their network behind Flash and Arrow.
