I like what Tai did, but I dont think he did it at the right time. If the women team up they can take the guys out fairly easily if they dont win challenges.

Those looks they were giving each other at TC were priceless. Glad when things don't go as planned.

I wish we had a clearer understanding of idol rules. If they were allowed to give an idol after the vote to form a super idol, why not after the vote to give it back to Jason so it wasn't wasted?

The reason Scott was not allowed to give the idol back to Jason is because basically once Jason gave the idol to Scott it ceased being his possesion and became Scott's so Scott was then voted out with his idol not Jason's idol.

I guess what I am getting at is why would he be allowed after being voted out to accept another idol to form the super idol?

Oh well ... I wouldn't be surprised if this is a question Dalton Ross asks Jeff Probst in his weekly Q&A. And the rules will be clarified.
He was doomed as soon as the confessional crew caught him boasting about how there was no way his plan could fail.
Pretty ballsy move by Tai. While he could make enemies, he seemed to be playing passively before that. And his alliance was talking about blindsiding him at the soonest opportunity because he was too likable to beat at a final tribal. He may have backstabbed his alliance, but he may have improved his position to win the game (and still has the idol and the advantage).

Since we didn't know Jason gave Scot his idol until the end credits, I was waiting for Jason to give Tai his idol to make the super idol, only for Tai to be like "oh thanks" and just keep both.
Edit: I must have skipped over the part of Jason giving his idol to Scot.

Was looking for something like this to happen because of the editing, but like the previous poster, I was hoping Tai would wind up with both. Now Tai is the only one with an idol and he has the advantage.
Poor rooster... Jason will be looking for revenge.

I believe now that one idol has gone another will be put back into play. I think Tai made a good move. His alliance was planning on voting him out anyway so there is really no downside. However, the others are also going to vote him out as soon as they can also so it is really a wash. Though he might be able to work with the others better.

I liked the twist on the reward challenge, where part of the strategy was thinking what others would do. It made me think of DVD Talk Sheep games

Ah Tai, you just cost yourself a couple of votes. I mean, we got rid of Debbie, but Tai seriously is just lucking his way through this season.
The amount of balancing challenges is ridiculous.

Idols that go home in pockets do not seem to ever be put back in play. So that means Tai's is the sole idol left in the game.
As much as people will love the move as an emotional reaction, I suspect Tai's move could cost him the game. Not sure he can win against Aubry or Julia. I underestimated Aubry and she might just have a shot at this if she can pull off that key challenge to ensure she is there at the end.

Jeff Probst has explained that if Tai had used the "Super-Idol" and cancelled Scot's votes, there would have been a re-vote with only Tai and Aubrey up for elimination and those two wouldn't get a vote; pretty much Tai would probably have been sent to jury. So, really, whether he realized it or not, he didn't have another choice.

It makes sense since the rest did throw enough votes Tai's way. So the best move would have been for them to play both idols separately before the vote?

In a scenario where Tai doesn't turn on Scot and the vote was still 4-2-2 then yes correct, play both and Aubry would be sent home.

Good discussion. I'm liking Aubrey more & more. She's had to scramble & use her wits (and she's spunky & surprisingly strong given her nerdy appearance).
Seriously, given the makeup of the jury from those already there + any remaining contestants, who did Jason & Scott think would vote for them if they had happened to make it to the Final 3?
Aside from the bullying & condescension, I'd think the sabotage with the tools & the fire would have been enough to keep most jury members from considering either of them against pretty much any of the other six.
