Watched it a couple days ago, enjoyed Jonah Hex. =)

Hex's part seemed underwritten for a major guest character. I'm guessing the staff didn't bother doing much research on the character before using him in this episode.

Caity Lotz did look like she was having fun playing cowgirl in the Old West.

I kind of wish the "Welles" gag (and you knew it was coming) had instead been a somewhat darker figure from History. It would be a fun running gag if every time they create a paradox, it only made things worse.

Hex underwritten? I didn't think so. I thought it was a good representation of the character. If there is one thing this show does right is to get the time periods looking correct.

I enjoyed Ray choosing John Wayne as his alias, since Brandon Routh grew up about half an hour from where Wayne was born.

H.G. was never in the old west. That was lame.

Oh, did Atom kill one of the time guys by flying through him? That seemed pretty brutal.

They were so fearful of the hunters yet easily dispatched them... Maybe they should just go take out the time masters.

Well, that was fuckin' stupid.

Next week could be interesting if they play it right.

Jonah Hex very cool. I can't wait to watch this ep.

Jonah Hex and some pretty great scenery (thanks foreboding-looking PacNW weather!) made for a solid episode. Although I am getting tired of the "we can't change the timeline" shtick since pretty much all they do is change the damn timeline.

The thing the writers keep forgetting in time travel is that sometimes you can write in situations like the one where H.G. Wells was now saved because of their meddling. Some times the fixed point in time has to have your hand in it to actually happen. Yeah, it gets to the point of what came first, but they seriously need to stop with this stupid mentality that they can't mess with time.

Really should have been a 2-part episode.
Hex needed more background and action.

It is all but killing the show. Well that and pairing off Ray and Teeth.

The problem with Legends of Tomorrow is that its emotional center is Rip Hunter. They've badly mishandled his characterization and I just don't care much for his story.

It's almost like watching Star Trek:TNG Eps. where this would come up seemingly at least a couple times a season. And of course, no one listened and did shit anyway.

So it's fine to go after people that mess up the timeline by messing up the timeline even worse? These Time Lords are a bunch of hypocrites.

Yeah, this show has so many problems when it comes to the writers room. God, how could they a great concept and just waste it so badly.

Why was Ray getting injured in real time? He would've had years to heal from his injuries. He also would've had a new memory of when and where he got attacked.

Because Legends of Tomorrow. The only thing that is legendary of this first season is just how bad it has been. They really need to get these characters back on their original shows and dump Rip and the Hawks back in the hole they found them in. Getting Sarah back on Arrow might just give it the kick in the pants it needs.

The problem is they just keep floundering around jumping through time. They should've completed their objective by now. The story they're trying to tell could've been completed in 6 episodes.

Re: DC's Legends of Tomorrow (S1E11) -- "The Magnificent Eight" -- 4/14/16

Six episodes? Getting Savage could have worked in three still leaving room for character building before the final scene. Two hour movies make it work all the time.

PhantomStranger 04-22-16 12:28 PM

Re: DC's Legends of Tomorrow (S1E11) -- "The Magnificent Eight" -- 4/14/16

Vandal Savage was still a good choice for a season-long villain but something else should have been driving the team this entire season besides their quest against Savage.
