Just watched the final 2 episodes of the season and Imthought the show lost some steam at the end.

Not really sure what to make of the cliffhanger.

This is exactly how I would describe it. The last 2 episodes were kind of meh. I did like the cliffhanger. Basically implying she was some sort of con artist and lead a different life before they hooked up. I'll watch season 2. Some of the best laugh out loud moments on this show for any comedy this year.

I didn't catch every episode but there were some funny moments when I did happen to watch The Detour.

I just don't understand these 10-episode comedy seasons. Watching comedy is all about understanding the pacing and rhythm of a show over many episodes and I never get that from these short-run seasons. It may work for the economics of cable television but I think it severely hampers the comedic potential compared to a drama's success.

I started this, very funny show, hope for an uncensored cut soon.

I really wish all these road side locations existed. I'm going to have to go to one of the South of the Border restaurants next time.

In the UK many sitcoms and other shows regularly have 6 episode seasons. I actually think shorter seasons make for better quality.

This was a little more plot oriented than a standard comedy. It plays out like a great 3.5 hour comedy flick.

I loved their way too detailed version of How I Met Your Mother on cocaine.

I am part-way through the final episode (ep 10), and I just want to say that the kids on this show practically steal every scene that they are in...just wonderful acting (and some hilarious but believable shocked reactions to the words that come from the mouths of their parents).

Re: The Detour (TBS) -- Series Thread -- S: Natalie Zea, Jason Jones

Season 2 premieres with 2 back to back episodes tonight, 2/21/17. The season will be 13 episodes.

TBS's hit comedy series The Detour is making its way back for its second season, slated to launch with back-to-back episodes on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT). Created, written and executive-produced by Jason Jones and Samantha Bee, The Detour stars Jones, along with Natalie Zea, Ashley Gerasimovich, Liam Carroll and Daniella Pineda. During the second season of this all-too-honest look at the family dynamic, Nate (Jones) receives a promising job opportunity, and the family moves to New York City for a fresh start. Everyone is excited except for Robin (Zea), who knows that a move to the big city means her mysterious past may catch up with her. While Nate and Robin adjust to new jobs, new neighbors and old flames, Jared (Carroll) and Delilah (Gerasimovich) dive headfirst into the awkwardness of adolescence. Despite questionable parenting and terrible decisions, the love the Parkers have for each other will keep the family intact as they endure another disastrous adventure. The second season of The Detour will feature a number of special guests, including series executive producer and co-creator Samantha Bee, as well as James Cromwell, John Oliver, Laura Benanti, Jeffrey Vincent Parise and Max Casella. The second season of The Detour is executive-produced by Jason Jones, Samantha Bee, Brennan Shroff and Tony Hernandez.

This is rolling as funny as season one.

The kid saying you can't cross the street until the white man tells you too. Holy Cow.

That guy was on Dexter.

Didn't care for the first season, but checked out the first two eps for the 2nd season, and it's been a huge improvement. Looking forward to more.

1st episode was freaking hilarious. Liked that it was commercial free.

The racial jokes/puns that involved Erik King (Doakes from Dexter) and his mother were cracked me up. Especially when Juice got misinterpreted as Jews.

2nd wasn't as funny. The menstrual blood thing was gross as was the magic thing. James Cromwell is great though.

The first episode of season two was the funniest thing I've seen on TV in the past year. I hadn't seen anything that consistently funny for 30 minutes since possibly Seinfeld.

A lot of it was over the top, but the subtle stuff, like Zea's character's Jamaican accent slipping through, was really funny too.

I thought the first episode was great. The second not so much even though Natalie Zea looked amazing in that dress. You can definitely see puberty showing up in the daughter and to a lesser extent the son.

Nate's eye infection in the second episode was disgusting. I've had conjunctivitis before and it's just pure misery.

Robin did look smoking hot in that red dress.

Cockblock Feels like I am in the velveteen rabbit Him getting pulled into the birth pool the placenta sliding out

The party was great. The sex scene was fucking fantastic. This show makes the most awkward situations hilarious.
