Yea, there's no way around it - they massively fucked up Kaylee's age.
Saw some comparisons between the character in BB and BCS - and they look the same age despite the fact that there should be at least a 5 year difference.

I can overlook it, but I've knocked other shows for less things - so I can't be a hypocrite just because I really like this show.

If people really want to get technical, then Mike himself looks older than he did during Breaking Bad, so that must be an age fuck up too, right?

The same is probably the case with a lot of the crossover actors. And they changed the actress who played Kaylee's mom, so there may be conspiracy theories about how she magically morphed into someone else.

at the nitpicking. This is like a thread on the comic book shows.

Fudge. Nice nickname.

Loved Jimmy's trip to Kinkos.

Yeah honestly the Kaylee thing doesn't really bother me at all. For one thing she's not a major character and while there is a discrepancy in her age its not so big that I have a hard time overlooking it. Its a goof but it isn't something that ruins the show.

Was I the only one expecting to see a Los Pollos Hermanos truck at the beginning?

I half expected it to at least be one of the trucks passing through the border.

A scanner and Photoshop would've been faster.

It's not just crossovers. Game of Thrones has changed the same characters to several actors, some bearing little resemblance (in fact, some almost exactly opposite) to previous actors.

At least they don't do the old soap opera trick of explaining that they were in a car wreck & had reconstructive surgery.

It's just one of the sad realities of life. Actors die, quit over disputes, get fired, get better job offers, etc. And prequels have the added burden of age differences if they use same actors to play "younger" versions of themselves.

Not ideal, but sometimes you just have to go with it. The printed page always has time-shifting & imaginative advantages over a visual medium, unless extensive CGI is used.

Speaking of Mike, I'd watch a spinoff show based upon his character.

Yeah, I was poking fun at the Kaylee age thing, which get brought up
a lot. None of that bothers me.

Most certainly. I have had to do this kind of stuff so many times before i have lost count. Quite the expert now of creating perfect copies of documentation, hence my degrees from Harvard, Yale, Oxford and Cambridge.

Scanners and Photoshop weren't as prevalent 10 years ago as they are now.

It would've made for a far more boring montage as well.

He could have done it in Paint then. That was pretty prevalent in 2002. Plus he was in a copy shop. So they'd probably have a scanner, even then. But it wouldn't have given us the montage, plus Jimmy was probably using methods he was familiar with.

Jimmy doesn't strike me as someone who is technically competent in modern technology.

Why would he do it in Photoshop? He's a con man who has tried to more or less walk the straight and narrow since he started at HHM. He's using the method he used when he was still in the game years ago and they probably didn't include using a computer.

Yea, he's not a computer guy and will do things the old fashioned way instead (comparatively speaking). This seems up his alley. He may have had some experience with photocopiers as well to do a decent job since he worked in the mailroom for a while (many corporate mailrooms have photocopiers and stationary).

However, it probably would've been easier to just ask his film crew guys if they could whip something up for him in photoshop. They look like the type who have computer experience - especially with graphics since they're into film.

It was late and he needed to do it while Chuck was sleeping. I'm sure if he had more time, he would have had them do it.

I thought we are around 2002 in BCS, whereas Breaking Bad is 2004?

Re: Better Call Saul (S2E08) -- "Fifi" -- 4/4/16

Another reason for him going to a 24 hour copy shop...

Spoiler:
...according to the preview for the next episode, it looks like they're not done with the copy shop, so his doing it that way could be plot related. Looks like someone either followed him or figured out what he did.

And, yeah, if this is taking place in 2002, Photoshop wasn't as widely-used as it is now, and you would probably have to be a pretty techy person to pull that off with Windows 98/2000/ME.

Also keep in mind that Jimmy has bern pulling scams for years, so he's probably been doing these cut-and-paste things since the 80s.

Putting aside that Jimmy wouldn't do that - sure, he knows his way and it worked. But 2002 was not the dark ages. It's a simple cut and paste job that any kid could have done in MS Paint. You don't need Photoshop.

BB starts out in late 2008... and Kaylee is first seen in S3 which is early 2009. She's 10 years old. So she really should be 1 or 2 years old in BCS, instead of the 8 or 9 that she looks.

Like I said - it's not a big deal. She's a minor character and it doesn't make any difference to the story. Just surprised they slipped up when they're normally very good with details that are much smaller.

I'm wondering if there's a reason they didn't age her properly. Maybe Kaylee plays a factor in a future episode that requires her to be older?

8 year olds are easier to work with than 1 year olds maybe.

They can certainly punch holes with a drill better.
