The Ranch (Netflix) - S: Kutcher, Masterson (no more), Winger, Elliot
Set in present day on a Colorado ranch, this multi-camera comedy series stars Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson, Sam Elliott and Debra Winger. The show follows Colt's (Kutcher) return home after a brief and failed semi- pro football career to run the family ranching business with his older brother Jameson "Rooster" (Masterson) and father Beau (Elliott), whom he hasn't seen in 15 years. Winger stars as Colt's and Rooster's mother, Maggie, who runs the local town bar. The Ranch is executive produced by Don Reo (Two and Half Men, My Wife and Kids) and Jim Patterson (Two and a Half Men, Mike and Molly). Kutcher and Masterson serve as executive producers and co-executive producer respectively.

Trailers look pretty bad but I like Masterson a lot and if Kutcher can channel his inner Michael Kelso this could be entertaining. Also, Sam Elliot is great.
I'm going to watch. Netflix makes it easy to sit through sitcoms even if they aren't that good.

Doesn't look very funny.
It's weird to see a sitcom with a laugh-track/audience with full out swearing.

Watched two episodes this morning. It's bad. It's even worse than the non-Charlie Sheen years of Two And A Half Men. I won't be back for the last 8. And those accents..yikes.

I couldn't believe when I watched the trailer. It looked really bad. I mean, sometimes you can make a show look interesting with a goo trailer. Here, it seems they didn't even tried.

But the laugh track just makes this show. Its nice that they let us know when we are supposed to laugh at the jokes.

This seems like a show where a whole season was shot in 2002 and the show never aired. Now Netflix is re-airing it.

Agreed. Sam Elliot could do a TedTalks on dealing with menstrual cramps and I'd find myself at the store buying tampons within the next fifteen minutes, confused yet set in my new-found conviction to stand by the words of a man with a perpetually excellent mustache.

I could not stop myself. I powered through it all last night and really liked it (I was drinking a few beers as well for full disclosure). I really got into the characters and the chemistry is really good with all of them. Really nice to see Debra Winger working again. A bit hokey at times but what show isn't?
I will be waiting for the next season...

I ended up liking this a lot more than I thought. It wasn't incredibly funny, it may have taken itself a bit too seriously at times and I'll echo that it had dabs of "hokiness" but the cast had good chemistry and it was enjoyable overall.
This another show that just works for Netflix binge-watching. Just like Fuller House, I don't know if I would have kept up with this if I had to watch it week to week but being able to breeze through it over a weekend made it easy to watch.

I put off watching this for awhile.
Danny Masterson's lines were often funny. Debra Winger and Sam Elliott brought some prestige to the show, and was like a sitcom-drama mashup. Some of the drama was really moving. Lots was predictable and sitcom-y.
Between this, and Horace and Pete, the sitcom might see some real disruption.

The only person I'm not loving in this sitcom is Ashton's. But after awhile he grew on me. Danny's lines crack me up.
I agree with everything here said about Sam Elliot.

Decided to do a free month of Netflix - this is one of the shows on there that I will binged. (Fuller House/Graceland Season 3 are two others.)
Glad to see that it was renewed for a second season - fan of all four actors.

For those curious, Ashton was on the new episode of Chelsea Handler's talk show. She asked about the show and he said they have the 10 episodes already done. And in 3 months they will film 20 more episodes.
They both said how much they love working for Netflix. They like the freedom Netflix gives them.

Just re-watched the whole thing again. Even better the second time around. A perfect show for drinking beer.
