That's because old people watch them. It's comfort food for them. Go to work 9-5, go home and eat your dinner, and sit down with a glass of wine and watch your CSI/NCIS/Criminal Minds. Younger audiences may be harder to nab, but when they latch onto a show, it really hits the zeitgeist. The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, or NBC's Thursday lineup back in the 90s-00s.

I have a couple of colleagues in my department at work. Very nice ladies in their 50s, but whenever I talk to them about TV, all they talk about is what happened on The Blacklist or NCIS. I swear that when I'm old, I'm going to keep watching the cool shows.

Judge Judy jumped the shark years ago. Most of the time I FF through it or delete it straight away.
