Oh god. That was worth it just for McBride's comment about his penis being private property.

Liked it, didn't love it. It felt too much like the first season of Eastbound and Down, when he was a coach. I don't know what I was expecting, really. Goggins was good, though. And is that Georgia King's actual butt? As in, not padding or anything? Wow... I need to asses my position on Scottish girls!

That was pretty damn good for a first episode. Hope they keep bringing it.

I liked it a lot. Yeah it felt like eastbound and down, but so what? That show was great.

Tacks!

I LOVED Eastbound & Down to the point where it would be so funny I would lose my breath laughing, but good lord this was terrible. It was so forced and I honestly didn't laugh once.

This sort of reminds me of Black Sheep & Tommy Boy with Chris Farley. Tommy Boy is hysterical and they went to the well again with the same character and Black Sheep just wasn't funny. Kenny Powers part 2 isn't working for me.

Sorry, comedy is hit or miss so I'm out on this.

One issue with this is that, unlike his character in Eastbound, his character here has no skill or anything special for him to have that sort of "I'm better than you" attitude. At least in Eastbound he was good at baseball.

It was ok, but I can see it getting old quick.

Gamby definitely feels like Kenny Powers 2.0.
He's full of himself, just not as much as Powers.
He's not really liked. His style is outdated. He's politically incorrect, and his thinking seems delusional at times.

I don't mind the hate Neal and Lee have for each other, but their childish fighting and bickering was annoying.

It's kind of like when Arnold plays a normal 'Average Joe' character like End of Days, instead of a guy who can kick everyone's ass in Commando. It's just not the same.

Didn't like the pilot much, but thought ep2 was great. Only Goggins could make arson hysterical. So over the top. The principal's sinister consigliere type guy was fun too.

Have to say this is my favorite currently airing show (sure it's summer, but even still...).

So Episode two was a big jump upwards?

Wow, that escalated out of control pretty fast

One thing to vandalize the new Principal's home, but to commit arson.

Was shocked that Russell wasn't gay, but is married with a nagging Korean mother in law.

when he hacked the loogy in her tea.

Very Very mean spirited episode, but I did enjoy it more than the Pilot.

Jesus, that went nuts awfully quickly.

Russell is like Boyd Crowder, only a school administrator.

The bits where McBride is more of a straight man (like his reaction to Russell's arson), are funnier to me than when he's trying to be the comic relief.

Pretty stupid of Gamby to use the stolen broach to pay for horse-riding lessons.
I'm guessing that'll come back to bite him in the ass later... something in which Russell had planned all along to pin the blame of the fire solely on him.

Yeah, first thing I would've said would've been "I want nothing to do with stolen property from a house that burnt down - especially a piece so personal". At the very least, you'd think he'd take it to a pawn shop in some other town instead of tossing it over to someone that knows him.

So far it's good but not great for me

I don't mind McBride playing a similar character, hell Michael J Fox played the same character throughout his career

Lord, I laughed extremely hard several times in the second episode. Goggins is hilarious and no one says "motherfucker" quite like he does. I laugh every time he says it.

And damn, this episode took it from mean humor to just plain DARK! I loved it but sat there with my mouth open the entire house scene. And I would love to see more of the Ray character. He's great in such a nothing role so far.

I laughed all the way through this scene, even harder once the lighter came out. It took a really dark, left turn and it was fantastic.

Haha. I was laughing but it stunned me when he pulled the lighter out. I said to my wife, "No way!" and then proceeded to watch with my mouth agape. It was great!

I love it when shows surprise you. I am currently making my wife watch Breaking Bad and forgot how well that show did just that.
