Re: DC's Legends of Tomorrow (S1E08) -- "Night of the Hawk" -- 3/10/16
Those hawk creatures were horribly done. I've praised this show on it's CG work but those things looked like SyFY channel crap. The teeth were the worst I have ever seen.
Other than that, I enjoyed the episode. |
Re: DC's Legends of Tomorrow (S1E08) -- "Night of the Hawk" -- 3/10/16
I didn't mind the hawks look but thought they were a dumb idea. Also thought it was pretty dumb to keep the one weapon that can kill you around. Drop it the ocean or a volcano. Other than those things I liked the episode. I find the show popcorn fun.

Nice to see Joe Dante getting steady work.

Re: DC's Legends of Tomorrow (S1E08) -- "Night of the Hawk" -- 3/10/16
I found this episode the worst hour of television about DC Comics' characters since the infamous Stride Gum episode of Smallville many years ago.
It is completely skippable, as the overall plot was not advanced except to have another dumb encounter between the team and Vandal Savage. We've now seen enough of this series to realize it isn't the quality of Flash or even Arrow on its better days. |

Hoping that rotation of characters rumor is true.

Sweet. It has had growing pains but it is enjoyable.

Thought it was OK. But each episode is getting into one excuse after another for no Firestorm.

Re: DC's Legends of Tomorrow (S1E08) -- "Night of the Hawk" -- 3/10/16
I thought this episode was pretty terrible. The time travel is being used more as a gimmick than a tool to progress the story. I don't feel the urgency of their mission when all these side stories are going on. A show like this should've had a short 8-10 episode order with a concise, event style telling of the story.

 DC's Legends of Tomorrow tackling racism and homophobia.
This was almost like an episode of Supernatural. Not terrible, but not great. Kind of weird that the team keeps running into different incarnations of Savage in these different eras. |

Good episode
the scariest thing about this episode wasn't the scary flying monsters or Savage, it was the accurate portrayal of how blacks were treated back then, that was scary. |

The episode could have been a good episode about racial and sexual preference acceptance. As good as the better after shool specials. Or some Trek episodes. But they even blew that. And of course another excuse for Firestorm to stay separate.
Snart keeps implying Rory is dead, but does anybody really believe he did it? Seems they didn't actually show it for a reason. |
Re: DC's Legends of Tomorrow (S1E08) -- "Night of the Hawk" -- 3/10/16
Nah, Rory's not dead. I'm sure they'll find a way to bring him back.

Re: DC's Legends of Tomorrow (S1E08) -- "Night of the Hawk" -- 3/10/16
The lapses in logic, planning and judgment regarding nearly every aspect of anything this team attempts to do to stop Vandal Savage are shocking.
Considering where and when they were going, did no one think it might be a better idea to have Ray and Sara pretend to be married to arouse less suspicion? And since Savage seems to sense when Kendra is close by, maybe keeping Kendra in the background might be better as each attempt to find/kill Savage begins? For now, I'll watch the rest of the season and hope it ends with a resolution of the Savage storyline -- if it doesn't, then I'm out, since I have no desire to watch multiple seasons of this team bumbling through time to kill him. |
Re: DC's Legends of Tomorrow (S1E08) -- "Night of the Hawk" -- 3/10/16
Maybe Kendra doesn't know Savage can sense her.

Re: DC's Legends of Tomorrow (S1E08) -- "Night of the Hawk" -- 3/10/16
Savage should have been saved for the season finale or even next season. It would work better if they were trying to collect clues to find him throughout time.
I thought the 50s setting was neat. The teenage girlfriend was acting super weird, but seemed like a promising actress. |

Apparently she played Thea's friend Blake in season one of Arrow. Thea doesn't seem to have any friends anymore. |

Yeah, I'm done with this one. It just seems like a network executive idea that nobody cared to fully develop. Godpseed.

Re: DC's Legends of Tomorrow (S1E08) -- "Night of the Hawk" -- 3/10/16
I'll hang in there because (like Arrow) it's connected tangentially to The Flash. It's only a matter of time before there's another crossover.

Re: DC's Legends of Tomorrow (S1E08) -- "Night of the Hawk" -- 3/10/16
I was thinking Stein would merge with Hawkboy in the hopes that turning into Firestorm would cure him. Plus, we might have gotten a badass firehawk for a minute.

I'm only still watching because I think Hawkgirl is hot, but that won't be enough to get me to tune in to Season 2.
