Chuck is really a conniving asshole. He seems intent on trying to make sure Jimmy fails or ends up wanting to quit practicing law. Granted Jimmy isn't straight laced either but he was (and still is to an extent) trying to be seemingly before Chuck threw him under the bus. Mike is always great to see more of as Jonathan Banks is just a badass. Loved the yarn Jimmy spun at the end of the episode with the detectives. It seems like Jimmy is going to end up fucking himself in regards to having a relationship with Kim as he won't stay on the straight and narrow path of the law and will continue to be involved in shady business. Overall a great episode.

I'm familiar with cake sitting, but sitting on pies??? That's just weird.

I loved that Chuck was playing that piece perfectly, but since it's a two person piece, it just showed that he's really lacking that other half.

Great early-Walt in that half brained drug dealer. This episode had me laughing while also filled with suspense on the Nacho angle. Banks really does wonders in this role.

I'm more interested in Mike's story than I am Jimmy/Saul's.

Solid episode. I really liked the bookend sequences this week. The opening sequence with Chuck playing the piano along w/the metronome was very well done. As was the ending scene with Jimmy and Kim and the foreshadow that assumes the eventual demise of their relationship.

Since the baseball card guy was never actually charged with a crime, was it really manufacturing "evidence" to make the video? Seemed like it was just to avoid suspicion, so while it was a sleazy tactic, it was not like he was admitting something fake into a trial.

The DVD for this season better have the pie-sitting video as an extra!

just because he was never charged with a crime, does't mean he didn't commit a crime. in my jurisdiction, creating fake evidence to show a crime wasn't committed would most likely fall under hindering prosecution statutes. i'm no lawyer, but i've dealt with cases similar to that where they dealt with destruction/hiding of evidence, and i would assume it would be similar in this situation.

great episode, though I am hesitant to eat pie for a while. I couldn't stop laughing when James was just spouting off the euphemisms.

From What's Alan Watching :

How Bob Odenkirk helped inspire the funniest 'Better Call Saul' scene yet
'Shouldn't there be a name for this thing?'
By Alan Sepinwall @Sepinwall | Monday, Feb 22, 2016 11:04 PM

I reviewed tonight's episode of Better Call Saul over here, but if you want some behind the scenes scoop on the hysterical scene that gave "Cobbler" its title, that's coming up just as soon as the cupholder's metric...

So, yes, now we know what the Hoboken Squat Cobbler truly is, and we have Bob Odenkirk to largely thank for it.

In the original version of Gennifer Hutchison's script, as Saul co-creator Peter Gould recalls, "There weren't as many names. In fact, I don't know that we named it at all. I think (Jimmy) just said, 'He sits in pies.'"

Saul isn't a show that allows for much improvisation, but on the first day of shooting the second season premiere, Odenkirk pulled Gould and Vince Gilligan aside and, as Gould recalls, praised the episode 2 script, and then, "He pitched the idea: 'Sex acts all have a name. Shouldn't there be a name for this thing?'"

From there, the Saul writers went to town dreaming up alternate names for the Cobbler — "Full Moon Pie," "Boston Cream Splatt," "Simple Simon the Ass Man," etc. — which Odenkirk had a field day delivering.

"On this show, he mostly is a performer," Gould said of his leading man, "but every once in a while, you see that he really is one of the great comic minds of our time. That was an example of Bob giving us a direction that we ran with, and then he ran with it in performance. And I just love it. I have to say, that was an interesting evolution of that scene. I'm really proud of it."

I noticed that, was it a callback to something? Am I going to get made fun of for not knowing that it was, just like the people with Ken? lol

Great episode.

Although, not realistic that buddy would simply keep valuable baseball cards unprotected in a box like that. Aaron and Mantle cards would be in a screwed-down holder. I gave better protection to my much crappier cards.

Chuck really is an asshole.

Anyone else get a huge craving for pie at the end?

The whole pie fetish thing reminded me of "United States of Tara" and Brie Larson's character host cam shows where she'd sit on cakes.
