Greg is absolutely the go to director for action episodes of TWD. Excellent top to bottom. I have a feeling that next week we get introduced to a major new character, namely
.

That was an amazing episode! How many people at home cheered when Carl got shot. "FINALLY!"
I knew that kid would fuck up the mambo line.
I did not expect that opening scene to go like it did.

I figured out the opening rocket launcher scene would happen as soon as I saw the situation. Loved it.

Holy shit!!!
Fucking awesome. Resident Evil meets Dead Rising. Non stop gore fest.
at the open when Daryl blew away Negan's men with the rocket launcher.

Good episode. Loved that everyone went ape-shit on the walkers - even Gabriel and Eugene.
Liked the use of the rocket launcher. Love seeing a quick kill of a bunch of people in one shot.
Looks like my idea of using fire to kill the walkers in that pit the first half wasn't so dumb - as it was used to create a distraction while killing some as well.
Still find it silly that Morgan is using his stick against the walkers. Does he think the walkers would go through the concussion protocol that forces them to sit out attacks in the near future?
I guess this episode (and the rest of the second half?) were already shot the same time as the first half - since Tara's still looking preggers.
I was really hoping Rick would've been killed. He may be the centre of the show, but I think it's time for him to go. He's such a crappy leader and is unbelievably stupid. He does more harm than good.

Was a great episode. Lots of action and drama.
I will say I kind of roll my eyes when they take on a few hundred walkers in a fit of rage and nobody gets bit. I mean they should have lost at least someone in all that. Especially someone like Eugene who's about as agile as a hippo.

She looked like a mannequin.
Best episode of the series IMO.
If anyone watched Talking Dead, the annoying "mom" kid seems like he is the same as his character in real life. "Meliisa McBride is suuuuch a joy to work with and we both like to go antiquing".

I can't believe they actually had that happen to Carl in the show. =)
Glad those two kids are gone.

We've seen them walk towards fire before, right?
Anyway, great episode. This show can really nail it at times, which is why no matter how boring and bad some episodes are people keep coming back. Loved the opening, completely forgot about what was going on from the previous half season so I didn't even think about a bazooka. It was ridiculous, but in a good way.
Loved that they went there with Carl Glad all the rumors were true about it and they did a pretty good job with that entire scene. Also happy to see those kids die; kind of funny how the audience is basically cheering for these kids to die
Everyone fighting at the end might have been silly, but it worked for me. Looked cool and was nice to see everyone working together. Even if it was just because Rick went crazy.

I'm glad Greg Nicotero explained Carl's wound on "Talking Dead". In the comic (where he was accidently shot by Rick, as I recall) the drawing made it look as if he had a hole blown straight through his skull; it made for a shocking panel, but I thought he was "dead'. I was a bit surprised he was able to survive it. Nicotero's explanation (the shot was to the side of the eye and glanced off of it, and shattered bone took out his eye) made a bit more sense.

Yay to Carl for being the new Clarence Worley.
And ouch, those cheap CG explosions do not look good on a UHDTV.

I'm amazed Abraham and Sasha didn't get hit by any shrapnel from motorcycles or bones. Some of the dialogue from the previous episode's preview was also missing; the scene had no more mention of floor mats and emergency napkins now belonging to Negan.

My one beef is I wish they had someone from the group die when they all went Rambo on the Zombies at the end. You build this whole episode of suspense with hundreds or thousands of zombies and everyone survives in the free for all? Should have had Eugene go down as his character is pretty much useless at this point, and it would have been a heroic ending.
Even though I enjoyed the episode, its the first time the show felt like it was getting tired like any great show after 6-7 seasons.

The scene was strangely edited, like it was part of a preview replaying footage from the previous episode, but that scene was never part of the episode -- it was shown during Into the Badlands and Talking Dead.
And, yeah, regarding the explosion, it probably should have taken out Sasha, Abbraham, and the truck (which was filled with gasoline). If it was strong enough to blow eight guys to pieces, then the blast radius would have done quite a bit of damage to people standing twenty feet away.

Excellent episode. I thought for sure the explosion at the beginning was CGI, but it was a practical effect.
