Has McCarthey joined the 5 timers club?

It seems like she hosts once a season and Kanye appears as a guest every season.

I bet if you ask John Doe on the street to name a Kanye song he would have no clue and supposedly he is a giant and a icon in the music industry.

At least with Jay-Z you can say 99 Problems.

Well I figured with MM as host we would likely be spared a hideous musical monologue.
Aww crap

Wow this Kanye performance is insufferable.

Why do we need musical monologue every freaking episode? Can they really not think of anything else to do?

Yeah, just stop talking about rap, mkay? It is obviously not your genre.

Autotune is still being used? I thought that stupid shit came and went years ago.
I guess it's still around for those who have zero singing ability?

Surprised they aren't bleeping him. Wasn't aware you could say the N-word.

I mean, they found a way to make an episode even less desirable. Ugh, that host and musical guest line up just screams "DO NOT WATCH"

Not one, not two, but THREE O.J. jokes! Not to mention Kanye's Robert Kardashian shirt.

I liked Vanessa Bayer's Jennifer Anniston impersonation. "Yeah, yeah".

Back to reality this week. I did chuckle over the movie screening focus group, but nothing else. And Kanye was the shit. Check that. Kanye was shit.

I'm a huge Kanye fan and those were two of the worst Kanye songs I've ever heard. The rest of the episode was strong though.

That was good lol. The repeating sketch where Kate works at the pet store and the Terminator sex scene sketch were ok too.

Leslie Jones is getting more screen time every week and she was in almost every sketch last night.

So bored during the Kanye songs I searched my dvr playlist and checked the weather channel app.

Have to agree. As someone who actually likes a lot of his stuff, he was dreadful here. It all came off as a wacko parody... shit was more ridiculous than a What Up With That sketch.

You do realize what year it is and how PC everything is, right?
Archie Bunker also said it back in the '70s but in today's television, it's a no-no.

I think there would be more of an issue if Chevy Chase or Carol O'Conner said it today. But sometimes it's context, not PC. If it were such a PC issue, I suspect I would find at least one article on the word being used when I googled "Kanye West," "N-Word" and "Saturday Night Live."

I am confident that Archie Bunker never said "******" on AITF.

The defense of that Pryor/Chase sketch was (1) it was Richard Pryor (2) the sketch was using the word for the expressed purpose of making a point about the power of words and how they stand for racist ideas.

I imagine that NBC was okay with the language within a specific context (1) It was after midnight (2) Kanye is considered an artist (3) there is a socio-political point to the lyrics.

I know it's not cool to dislike Kanye West, but what was that shit? I've never seen that guy give a good live performance, and all that excessive puffery onstage would have made MC Hammer shake his damn head.

I loved the "Beyonce is Black" bit and the Movie Screening bit.
