Loved this episode. The scenes with Mulder and Scully each thinking about what life would be like with William were very poignant.

This is my favorite show, and I'm currently in the middle of rewatching the series, so maybe I'm being too critical, but Gillian Anderson just seems like she has no energy. She seems like she's still playing the character from Hannibal the way she talks. I understand these characters are older, but Jesus, you're still in your 40s Gillian, not your 70s.

I thought the second episode was stronger than the first - hopefully, the show continues to pick up momentum as it goes on. The next one has gotten good buzz. Seeing the original titles and various other bits of fan service has been pretty great, I will say. I am sure there is a lot of goodwill built up for it - it is one of the most beloved shows of recent vintage.
Duchovny and Anderson do seem to be underplaying quite a bit. I'm not sure if that is just a function of still trying to get familiar with their characters again, or of just being older and having lower energy as performers.

Yeah, this was way better than the last episode, though it would've been tough to be worse.
Lots of classic Files tropes in this episode, even the ambiguous ending.

Wow, what an episode! Last night's was pretty good but tonight was classic X-Files.
I'm a little confused about their son, William, though. I thought Scully gave him up as an infant and we was raised by another family yet they show flashbacks of Mulder & Scully with him as a child. Now, it's been probably 10 years since I've watched any episodes from 8 & 9 so I could not be remembering things correctly.

Nicely done, I thought.

This was an utterly fantastic episode that took me right back to the glory years. Where was this in the first episode!? Mulder and Scully both felt far more comfortable and natural.
If I was a Fox executive I would have been sorely tempted to shelve the first episode completely and made this the premiere. Playing this awesome standalone episode after the football game would have earned this series a much longer look by new fans.
I hope the remaining episodes we get are close to this good.

Good shit right here! Man, i nearly gagged when I saw the fat fuck mutant kid stuffing his face in the padded cell as they walked past them. /hurls
It's great that they're back. I should back track and say that as much as I find Gillian Anderson fuckable still to this day - I think she did have botox or a facelift or even post-production smoothing. Hell, even Duchovny looks weird in some shots - he almost has an Asian eyefold in some scenes. Granted, they're both pushing 50, so it could be getting old sucks ass.
Can't wait for the next episode, though!

That was a solid classic feeling X-Files episode tonight. That felt almost like classic Mulder and Scully. James Wong really got the vibe of the classic show here where Chris Carter failed on Sunday.
The scenes with Mulder and Scully thinking about what could have been with William were indeed very poignant. Mulder was actually quite funny in a few scenes.
I agree with a previous comment that the opening credits feels a little dated, especially with the 1993 FBI photos of the cast.
I when Vik Sahay from Chuck was trying to give Mulder a BJ.

I liked it. It was on par with the premiere which I liked quite a bit actually. There is a certain comfort level with the characters that I enjoy.

It was a good show. When the 2 siblings finally hooked up and everything went kambooom! it was classic good X-files. Good ambiguous ending, i.e, as in what happened to the 2 kids? Good to have the all-knowing one-step ahead government conspiracy back too. Bring on the Smoking Man!

I liked it. It was just like the old days, though pretty gross for 7PM. Yo, I'm tryin' to eat over here. I remember that happening occasionally back then, too.

I still really enjoyed this episode. The first one felt forced and they rushed things to get the characters back to their former selves. This one felt much more natural and I loved it.

Although the actress that did play her (Christine Willes) also played an FBI agent in a few episodes of the original show.
I don't know if anyone noticed that the Asian scientist in the first episode, in the scene with the alien tech airplane, was the same actor who played the Japanese scientist who was "frozen to death" in the "Synchrony" episode of the original show. Presumably, because they filmed the reboot in Vancouver, you may seem some local actors from the old show pop up. It will be fun to try and spot more.
