Re: The 100 (S3E06) -- "Bitter Harvest" -- 2/25/16

A friend recommended this to me so I marathoned the first two seasons on Netflix and really enjoyed them. What the heck happened?! The grounders went from semi savage tribes to many thousands living in a city. I don't buy Bellamy acting like this. Blah, I'll give it a few more but I may be out.

Re: The 100 (S3E06) -- "Bitter Harvest" -- 2/25/16

Serious question here: I've heard some good things about this show and yesterday tried the pilot episode on Netflix and could only get halfway through it. So my questions is...Is this just a dopey teen show or does it get better?

I like sci fi shows, loved BSG, The Expanse, 12 Monkeys, The Strain, The Walking Dead, and I generally enjoy shows and movies with a post apocalyptic theme.
But have zero interest in Hunger Games and similar type teen genres.

Is the 100 worth sticking with?

If episode one didn't get you into it then don't bother. It started off half decent if you ignore how silly the whole setup was; but it just seems to be going way out there this latest season and completely did a role reversal
Spoiler:
where the bad guys are now the semi-good guys while the people we were following are now basically just completely out for blood.

I disagree. The pilot is not very good at all, but the shows keeps improving and season 2 is awesome! Season 3, well, that's polarizing so far - with good reason

lol Kdogg, seriously if they just killed all the black people on the show at this point there would be peace and no story left to tell.

Well it seems we're finally getting somewhere with the the whole 'City of Light' and the backstory of how things came to be as they were.

Re: The 100 (S3E07) -- "Thirteen" -- 3/3/16

As soon as the commander hooked up with Clarke I knew she had to die- everyone else does.

That was interesting. The FX for the episode must have cost them a fortune. So we now know how the world ended- I guess we'll have to find out if the AI the commander is carrying is bad or if it is the World's salvation (if the series actually lasts that long).

Re: The 100 (S3E07) -- "Thirteen" -- 3/3/16

I'm impressed with how much the TV show has expanded beyond the novels. I'm glad Lexa's death had more to it than freeing up the actress for Fear the Walking Dead. It explains why standard American English survived centuries without linguistic change. How did the original commander and grounders survive the radiation?

Also, why is Roger Cross in every sci-fi show?

As far as the radiation goes, I assume that the scientist who came down helped them survive it. She did bring some sort of vaccine with her.

Re: The 100 (S3E07) -- "Thirteen" -- 3/3/16

I think Mt. Weather sort of explained it. It came down to genetics; some people were able to survive the radiation while others didn't. The people in Mt. Weather were people who didn't have said genetics and didn't adapt to their world as they stayed in their little bunker. Although that crazy Scientist lady and her AI probably played a part in it; you can see she didn't return to Earth until after it was nuked though thus those people had already survived up to that point in the radiation.

I wouldn't be surprised if we find out the Scientist lady also helped establish Mt. Weather as a research outpost or something.

After a hundred years, sure. Within the first few years, everyone on the surface should be toast.

I gather the "black fluid" that she injected herself with (and apparently is in the bloodline of future commanders) protects vs. radiation.

Very interesting episode. For Roger Cross appearance.
Liked the ties back to the start of it all.

So then AI 2.0 may be in the commander's chipset?

Shits about to go down!
I could see this coming down to internal warfare soon as leadership changed hands.
The flip flopping is becoming a regular thing though but I guess it's to be expected.

Did I hear right ... it's been 3 months since last episode?
