Good to have this show back. Maybe it's just me, but this felt like a return to the first couple of seasons.

Thought it was lame that bringing in a wrestler to teach a lesson about teamwork would actually get a bunch of adults to work as a team.

JMO, but this show has gone completely in the shitter since the premier. I have lost any interest and it has become a real chore to get through.

And I'm just the opposite from Bill. I had never watched a single episode until the Chinese coronavirus had me sitting at home looking for something to watch. So now I've binged Billions and picked up the last 2 weeks live. I think this is the type of show that works better bingeing as there are too many little twists and turns to remember from week to week.

Yea, not that exciting of a season.
It feels like they don't have any concrete ideas for storylines and are just throwing in some pointless stuff.
I suspected there would be a problem with what to do when the whole Chuck/Ax alliance essentially lasted less than a season. It's like they had to correct a bad decision and are just winging it.
And can we stop this bullshit of Wendy being able to solve everything? They make it seem like she has these mystical powers that can fix everything and everyone in minutes. And usually her comments/insights are pretty lame and really wouldn't help all that much - and certainly not as quickly as it does.

Good to see and makes sense that they aim to film season 6 along with the remaining episodes from season 5 when production returns. Also glad to see Corey Stoll will be a regular in the new season.

Finally started this show and binged through the first two season. Shows a blast, but man does it veer off from the seriousness of the first couple episodes

Good for Giamatti to lose all that weight... but man does that create a continuity issue from Episode 7 to 8 lol
He makes Jesse Plemons role in El Camino look legit.

Yeah, that's definitely a continuity issue. I don't think they can jump forward enough in the timeline to make it plausible.
I can't remember much from the first half of the season.

Damian Lewis is leaving. Corey Stoll will be a regular. Obviously this was set up in the finale.

Season 6 starts January 23.
Another Showtime show not knowing when to quit.

I am glad that they kept the Damian Lewis news on the down low until the season ended. After watching the season finale my initial thought was " I guess Bobby Axlrod will be off the show for a while " until I came here to read the latest news.
The "Frank Grillo as a pretentious artist" side plot was indeed the worst part of this past season. It did look like the show had every intention of going forward with Wendy and Bobby as a romantic couple until the pandemic and real life derailed that. The new dynamics due to the fallout of the finale might be interesting enough to keep it fresh for a while, so I will stick around for season 6. But I am not sure if I could handle this going into some season 8 or 9 Dexter-like territory ...

I think Lewis will pop up from time to time and quite possibly return when they finally try to wrap this series up. But yeah, Billions without Bobby Axelrod is kind of like Dallas without JR or The Sopranos without Tony. Corey Stahl is a really good actor, but I would have said "no" to this if I were him.

I really liked the finale, but the news of Lewis's exit sucks. I expected a revenge plot for the next season. Anyway I'm happy the show continues, since it's still too good to end. Corey Stoll was a nice adition to the season, so I'm confident he will fill the void Lewis is leaving, for the most part.
I expect the dynamic of the show to change, since now Rhodes is the protagonist of the show.

Wow... just finished watching the episode and didn't know Lewis was leaving the show.
The big problem with the show now is that Prince isn't ruthless like Axe, and that'll make the battle between Rhodes and him kind of weak. And if they turn Prince into another Axe, it wouldn't be true to the Prince character - and just feel like a they're regurgitating everything. May as well keep the Axe character and use another actor to play him.
Lewis seems to know exactly when to bail on a Showtime series.
