Goddamnit. I was just going to post this. goddamn you, dex. Goddamn you to hell. You're always ahead of me.

Let us hope it doesn't get stupid w/ him like it did in DD S2. Jesus. Talk about such a goddamn high damn near the whole time w/ that character. Fucking HATED the whole cliche army colonel/whatever and such. Then.. Frank's last moment in DD was weak as all hell. He was damn near perfect w/ his story but they made it more complicated for no reason.

Hell to the fucking yes. Now lets get some grittier stuff done right, like Ghost Rider. Hell, I'd love for a series like The Nam or G.I. Joe to be done by Netflix.

I'm actually fine if we don't get more Daredevil, but I am looking forward to Punisher and JJ S2.

Looking forward to more Punisher, especially since I don't know much about the other villains and characters he encounters other then the basics.

I don't think Frank has that many original villains that are memorable or have even been good. Ugh. I hated the 1990s w/ him. I LIKED the character but hated most his comics until Welcome Back, Frank came along after the shit he had.
Jigsaw seems to be his big one. Or was his big one. Haven't kept up w/ him. Barracuda was a fucking huge ass motherfucker that had a fucking memorable death. Motherfucker had to to die TWICE. Hahaha. The Russian was pretty fucking cool as a big goon.
Doesn't matter. It's fucking Frank. He wants to take down criminals. He's got fodder till the end of time w/ that.
He was a great character even when he was in a hospital bed.

I am so excited. Jon Bernthal was just amazing in the role on Daredevil, he definitely deserves to have his own show. I am confident netflix will do it right.

Very cool. The ending to DareDevil was a weak way to send him out, but with an entire series coming it makes it a bit better. Marvel/Netflix hasn't let me down yet, so I see no reason why they would now. I'll immediately stop whatever else I'm watching once the series gets put up.

Awesome, but not surprising news.
I'm wondering if the series will move forward from where Daredevil left off or will they spend part of it telling Castle's backstory and what led him to becoming The Punisher.

Honestly, I've never really viewed the Punisher as a comic book character. Despite wearing a costume, his stories have always been grounded in gangland-style mafia action. Despite some well-known crossovers, Marvel mostly kept his stories away from their superheroes.

I haven't seen DD S2 yet, but my buddy said Bernthal is awesome as Punisher.

Great news. Bernthal and Co. surprised me with the character in DD. Much better than I anticipated.

Frank Castle, meet thy enemy?
Netflix’s latest Marvel spinoff, The Punisher, has cast English actor Ben Barnes (The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian) in a series-regular role opposite Jon Bernthal’s titular vigilante, TVLine has learned exclusively. Character info is sketchy, but one rumor making the rounds has Barnes — who will next be seen in HBO’s big-budget Westworld — portraying antagonist Bobby Saint, the corrupt crime prodigy played in the 2004 film by James Carpinello.
A Netflix rep declined to comment.
Barnes’ stateside TV credits also include playing Sam Adams in the 2015 History miniseries Sons of Liberty.
Viewers got their first look at Bernthal’s gun-toting antihero in Season 2 of Daredevil, which dropped last March. Netflix formally pulled the trigger on a Punisher-centric series one month later (although the project was unofficially greenlit back in January). Hannibal scribe Steve Lightfoot will serve as showrunner.
For those keeping track at home, The Punisher marks Netflix’s sixth Marvel series, following Daredevil, Jessica Jones, the upcoming Luke Cage, and the in-the-works Iron Fist and The Defenders.

Considering he was the best part of DD season 2, I doubt they do.
