Re: Supergirl (S1E09) -- "Blood Bonds" -- 1/4/16
I suspect they will show Cat still believing she knows the truth in the future since as annoying as the character often is, they haven't made he out to be a fool.
Where was it confirmed that the Bizarro Supergirl is coming? I think I read something recently about Toyman, but not Bizarro. Does every Superman villain also bother Supergirl in the comics or is this just a convenient way for them to get known villains on this TV show?

For long stretches of time, Supergirl never had her own solo comics. She would often pop up as a guest star. Most older comic readers associate her more with the Legion of Superheroes, set in the 30th Century. She doesn't have a big stable of villains that are uniquely hers.
When she was a popular character, it was mostly part of a bigger Superman family of characters.

Um... I think she did have her own comic in the past (starting in 1972), but the series stopped several times over years.
The first issue.
This is 1982's reboot of Supergirl comic.

As I said, for long stretches of time she did not have her own solo comics. Both those series ran for a few years before getting canceled. The character has been around since 1959. Most of the more popular DC characters have had their own solo books published continuously since inception.
Then there is the issue of DC seriously tampering with the character over the years whenever they felt like it. Probably the character's most popular run, Peter David's Supergirl series in the late 1990s, was a different character in all but superhero name and costume. It was an entertaining read but a character that no mainstream person would understand as Supergirl, cousin of Superman.
Here is an interesting piece from early in his run by Peter David himself on the history of Supergirl and the reasons why DC struggled to keep her viable.

There was a period where DC insisted that Superman be the absolute last Kryptonian. That's why they made her from Krypton's "sister planet" in The Animated Series.

Some of that was clearly done at the time to "cut" Superman's connections from the character. Much like we've seen with the writing already for this television show, some comic book writers for her in the past have felt hampered having Supergirl so closely associated with her more famous cousin and his continuity.

Also to not back peddle on those major deaths that Crisis on Infinite earths caused in both Barry Allen and Supergirl's sacrifice. So they made her the alien so that we would have a supergirl, but also still make that death mean something.
Though, Barry is obviously back so yeah.

CBS’ Supergirl will battle her extremely evil “twin” before Season 1 has come to a close.
Exec producer Andrew Kreisberg mentioned in passing during a recent installment of Kevin Smith’s Fatman on Batman podcast that in addition to going up against Toyman — aka Winn Schott’s incarcerated father Winslow Sr., to be played by Revenge patriarch Henry Czerny — the freshman drama will also introduce a Bizarro character.
Kreisberg did not specify which “Bizarro” he was speaking of, but the smart money is on it being Bizarro-Girl, a denizen of Htrae/Bizarro World who boasts many of the same powers as Supergirl, though sometimes in reverse (e.g. freeze vs. heat vision).
The website HeroicHollywood first picked up on Kreisberg’s hint.
I guess that qualifies as "kinda/sorta". Anyway, its a guess...

According to TV Line (and then seconded by IMDB) actress Hope Lauren is appearing in several episodes of "Supergirl" as "Bizarro Girl/ Comatose Woman" which would seem to be the girl at the end of the last episode...

Huh, I really must not have been paying attention well. I thought Benoist (but not as Kara) was actually playing the coma girl.

Be warned, this version bears little resemblance to the character seen on television.
Many were excited about this run since it featured dynamic artist Michael Turner drawing the Supergirl most everyone here would recognize:

I enjoy Supergirl hanging around in the 30th Century with the Legion of Superheroes:

But it got fans excited because it was actually Kara returning as Supergirl, who had been missing from DC for nearly two decades. Turner also drew a great Supergirl. I'd agree the story itself wasn't incredible.

Probably Peter David's run on Supergirl. He wrote her for several years in the late 90s and went wild with the character. However, his stories colored far outside the lines of what most people think of as Supergirl.

I didn't realize Win was a Jr. I was writing a post a few eps back and couldn't think of the character's name so I googled it and got spoiled. I've watched the last few eps looking for hints that he's unstable or something.

It's possible they don't go in that direction for a long time. They'll probably save that in case the show's formula isn't working out and need something else to change things up.
