There was a lot going on in the first episode, especially related to the films and their significance.

I was watching at home with the sound turned up and my windows open. I wonder what my neighbors thought about the loud repeating chants of "Sieg Heil! Sieg Heil! Sieg Heil!"

Good season. It's definitely leaning harder into the sci-fi elements now.

It's only got a 3.5 rating on Amazon because all the homophobes are coming out of the woodwork to give it one star.

Finished S3 last weekend. Very enjoyable. Was interested if/when governments of other worlds might start taking a peek into all this ... But the "you can only go to a world where you are not" does limit things eh?

I think now that I've accepted the sci-fi aspect of this series, I'm enjoying it more. It still has some of the dystopian theme going on (Jar Zero), which is cool. I really enjoyed this season and I'm ready for season 4.

I guess I can appreciate them not wanting to run it into the ground but I personally think there is a lot of story that could be told.

I agree. Could have gone to 5 seasons in my opinion. This really was an amazing concept for a show.

They must believe that viewership is in permanent decline. It's unclear to me how Amazon decides go/no-go since there's no specific revenue source (advertising and the like) tied to viewership.

While I enjoy the show and looking forward to Season 4, I think this could have been a much better show if they decided what they wanted to be. I think mixing History and SciFi just makes the show come off as uneven, as each one gets in the way of the other. Either cut the Time-Travel stuff and make it a straight historical 'what if' drama', or go full-fledged time travel and make a real Sci-Fi show.

I haven't watched season 3 yet but I disagree. I'm not sure a historical "what if" drama, which would mainly revolve around a rebellion against the AXIS powers, would be all that appealing to me. Shoot, in season 2 there were many times where the rebels are basically the bad guys and/or incompetent. Like
Spoiler:
They say in season 1 that destabilizing the "pons" would give the advantage to Germany, so I'm not sure why they thought it would be a great idea to try to take out Japanese high command when they're on the brink of war

Also I had no idea until I turned on the subtitles that they were saying "pon" and not "pawn."

I admit I'm biased because I appreciate seeing Asian actors in prominent roles, but I like the show a lot. Do they explain more in season 3 how John Smith became so trusted, considering he was an officer for the enemy at one point?

FYI, Amazon just released season 4 (the final season) a day early. I'm starting episode 1 tonight.

Looks like I'm the only one who watched it this far

Finished the series finale today, good stuff. A very solid show.

Not. Just the opposite.

Finished the last season last night. I was confused by the final scene in the series finale.

Just finished as well and also confused.

I would have liked to have seen other Earth's come to help in some fashion ...

Same here, liked the show but the finale scene was confusing. Why would people be looking so happy to come to a currently horrible world and where did they come from? Boom..fade to black. Ok.

One suggestion I have heard is that its all the travelers that left, now returning with the world becoming more stable

Re: The Man in the High Castle (Amazon) -- Series Discussion Thread -- Premieres 11/20/15

I was confused by the ending as well

From Showrunner:
Spoiler:

Over at Entertainment Weekly, showrunner David Scarpa said the scene was intentionally ambiguous. “Part of the intention was to invite the audience to have their own interpretation of what they’re seeing on screen.” Though he does offer a tantalizing detail. “The portal is, essentially, open and it is going to remain open. In effect, what that means is two worlds have become one. There’s a doorway from one world into the next, and now people can move freely between them.”

Overall, I liked this season, though I agree with the sentiments I've seen shared elsewhere (BCR shoe horned, rushed ending)

Re: The Man in the High Castle (Amazon) -- Series Discussion Thread -- Premieres 11/20/15

I just finished it last night. Overall, I like the show and the season a lot, but yeah, things really got rushed. It should have been expected that Smith had a plan for Berlin, as in the past. That said, I don't feel like that they showed enough of the relationship with the German. I guess we have to assume that he made the deal when he had the drink..? That's a lot...

Finally finished. The ending felt like they really didn't know how to end the series, so they just pulled that scene out of their ass. I feel like they could have done better wrapping up Juliana's story and her relationship with the trade minister.

Re: The Man in the High Castle (Amazon) -- Series Discussion Thread -- Premieres 11/20/15

I finished this last night. I really enjoyed it, and I don't mind the ambiguous ending. Not everything can wrapped up neatly, and it's not unrealistic that no one knows what might happen next.

I do wonder how the Americans will fend of the Nazis once they realize Smith is gone and the Americans are breaking off from the Reich. I wouldn't dismiss the possibility of WWIII.

Almost through the last season and it's been a bit of a disappointment. Episode 5 that focused on Smith in the Alt-world may have been my favorite episode of the entire series though.
