GORILLA GRODD RETURNS TO CENTRAL CITY - Grodd returns to Central City and kidnaps Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker). Barry (Grant Gustin) and team race to find her before it's too late. Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) plans his first date with the new barista at Jitters, Kendra Saunders (guest star Ciara Renée) and Patty (guest star Shantel VanSanten) begins to suspect Barry is hiding something from her. Dermott Downs directed the episode written by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing (#207). Original airdate 11/17/2015.

It was nice seeing Henry Allen back and we get Gorilla City! I still wonder about Jay, wandering around our world without his speed powers.

It was funny seeing Wells 2 trying to play Reverse Flash with Cisco.:lol:

The crossover episodes look bananas, the previews alone excite me.

They've given us Reverse Flash, Captain Cold, Gorilla Grodd and now Zoom. I want Abra Kadabra as next season's big bad.

Well after this ep I'm switching over to thinking Zoom is Barry's father. Zoom breaks the Flash and then his father shows up to help build him back up. Total foreshadow for the twist of Zoom being an E2 daddy issue!!

as for this ep... all Tv shows need more angry huge telepathic gorillas..

Eh, it was already telegraphed in clues dropped before, but what really just hammers it home even more was that line he told Barry.

"Tragedy made me stronger, it'll make you stronger!"

(And I still think they should cast Penn Jilette, assuming his acting chops are up to it -- though I don't know if his schedule would permit a season-long arc)

The Earth-2 angle really opens up the possibilities for this show in a similar way that the alternate universe allowed "Fringe" to play with some crazy ideas without sacrificing the overall grounding of the show. Gorilla City is awesome and full of potential but would have come across as campy had they just plunked it down in "our" Africa with some half-assed explanation. Now we just have to wait for Grodd to get smarter and start laying down the verbal insults while he administers a beatdown.

So... why the hell would Wells send Grodd there? That seems like a place where Grodd could build up an army and whoop some ass. Or was that the point, leaving us wondering if Wells is a good guy or not?

I think Wells realized Grodd was going to wreck havoc everywhere if left free. Where else do you send a superstrong, intelligent telepathic ape? Team Flash had no other good ideas with a weakened Barry.

Why is Earth 2 so much more interesting than Earth 1? Better metas, better places (Gorilla City, Atlantis, etc). It's pretty much what Earth 1 DCU is supposed to be in the comics.

Eh, I wouldn't say that E1 DCU is that utopia level that E2 Show seems to be. It just looks brighter and new. And much like E2 in DCU, it got a little bit more history with Metas and what not.

I like how the second time around his Vibeing that she is Hawkgirl did not cause him to panic and run away from her, he just decided to internally say screw it, she is what she is and run with it. To be fair, his excuse that he had to cut the 1st date short because he is a liaison for CCPD was not a bad one.

Man, Patty and Barry are so great together.

The show is building steam this year and getting some traction on the ensemble front. The random banter and rapport between the group is helping fill in segments between scenes. Everybody joking on Cisco about getting breakfast at the end of his date was particularly great.

I haven't read any spoilers , but my speculation on Zoom's identity is Earth 2 Joe.

I say it's Barry's Earth 2 dad. Why else would he be coming back around all of a sudden? I think it's a tie-in to what's coming.

By the way, was I mis-hearing, or did Cisco say after his first vibe with his date that he saw a man? I thought it was pretty clear that what he was seeing was female.

I really like Shantel VanSanten on this. I don't know what the long-term plans are for Patty, but I wouldn't mind if they made her a regular. She's just awesome on this.

Good to see Barry's Dad back again. I enjoyed the mayhem Grodd brought.

Not a Grodd fan. Would not mind if that was the last we see of him, but clearly with the last scene it won't be.

Nope. Like in the comics, Grodd will take over Gorilla City and find a way back to Earth 1 again.

I'm sure we will see Grodd and his Gorilla army again. The only made things better in the short term.

Pretty clear Zoom is E2 dad, unless everything in this last episode was a purposeful miss-direct. Not sure they could have been more heavy handed about it if they tried.

Can't wait till they get this new show kicked off some we can have these obvious lead ups end. Same goes for Arrow.

That conversation between Joe and Iris had me thinking his ex-wife was pregnant before she left. Wally might be Iris' brother instead of her nephew.

Since Grodd was sent to Earth-2, I am hoping that white furred ape, The Ultra-Humanmite shows up to
battle it with Grodd for control of Gorilla City.

Grodd is such awesome villain in the comics and he has been handle well on the TV series.
