Executive producer Dick Wolf delivers the newest installment of the compelling "Chicago" franchise, an emotional thrill ride through the day-to-day chaos of the city's most explosive hospital and the courageous team of doctors who hold it together. They will tackle unique new cases inspired by topical events, forging fiery relationships in the pulse-pounding pandemonium of the emergency room, and through it all, familiar faces from the Chicago police and fire departments will intertwine as this third team of Chicago heroes hits the ground running. The cast includes Oliver Platt, S. Epatha Merkerson, Laurie Holden, Nick Gehlfuss and Yaya Dacosta. Dick Wolf, Matt Olmstead, Michael Brandt and Derek Haas serve as writers and executive producers. Looking forward to Chicago Med. Big fan of Fire and PD. 4 of the characters were already introduced in Fire and PD. One is Halstead's brother. Going to be interesting how they incorporate the crossovers.

Was trying to recall where I saw the lead actor on this from. Then it hit me that was Tommy from Arrow.
It was decent. If you're a fan of PD and Fire, then you'll probably like this. It's a medical show, so don't expect much new and innovative to the genre. A couple of Chicago Fire cameos in this episode. Sylvie, the EMT made an appearance and also Christopher, one of the firefighters. They tied everything in to the other shows when they hung out at Molly's at the end, where everyone from Fire and PD hang out too. I read there's supposed to be a huge 3-part crossover with the other 2 shows in January. |

I enjoyed it. I don't watch Chicago PD or Fire so hopefully I'll be able to make it through Med.

CHARLES MOVES TO THE COURTROOM AND THINGS TURN COMPLICATED FOR THE DOCTORS AND NURSES OF CHICAGO MED IN THE SEASON THREE PREMIERE - PHILIP WINCHESTER GUEST STARS - The doctors of Chicago Med take their opinions to the extreme as they try to bring justice to the perpetrator in the shooting of Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt). Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) work on a heart-wrenching case that forces them to examine their own matters of the heart. Though Robin's (guest star Mekia Cox) brain tumor was removed and she is discharged from the rehabilitation center, Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) remains on edge that her problems are not quite resolved. Meanwhile, Rhodes gets blindsided by his colleague Dr. Bekker (Norma Kuhling), Maggie (Marlyne Barrett) sticks up for a patient and Dr. Choi (Brain Tee) and April (Yaya DaCosta) try to navigate their new working relationship. I have a handful of quick walkthroughs or “guy in background for 2 seconds” shots, but the most prominent part was me pushing this gurney.
I’ve been asked back for next season so we’ll see what happens. |
