"You're a little touched aren't you"

I loved Mike Milligan reciting "Jabberwocky" on his way out of the hotel.

Danson was great again in the stand off scene outside Ed's house.

Nick Offerman finally was given his chance to shine.

Loved the version of "Man of Constant Sorrow" they used at the end. Solid episode, lots of tension, even if not a lot of stuff actually occurred.

Looking forward to seeing how Sherriff Larsson ended up out in the woods while presumably leaving Peggy alone at the house with the remnants of the Gerhardt gang.

to all of this. Also...

"Excuse the obvious death penalty snafu."

"It's possible I soiled myself."

Loved getting a Nick Offerman-centric ep. The whole cast is great this season.

Yeah, another great episode this week. Several tense sequences - both the buildups with the Gerhardt clan, the sequence in the basement, getaway in the woods, etc. Nothing was really resolved in the end, but it sure was fun watching it all play out.

I am enjoying this season, but I have to say I am finding the mobsters a little ridiculous. Attacking a police officer is bad enough, but they are going to storm the police station? You would think a crime syndicate would try to avoid the law whenever possible.

There's only 10 episodes. The image at the top of this thread refers to the previous episodes (5) as the first half of season 2.

Yea, I had some trouble with that too. The Gerhardt's are trying to avoid extinction from the KC gang, yet are risking extinction tangling with the cops - regardless of the outcome at the police station. Ed's in police custody already and there's a decent enough chance he could be released (whether by bail or by not being charged) - it would make more sense to go after him when he's released. Why the rush to blow up the whole family to kill a fly?

With that said, S1 was a fine season - but I'm enjoying S2 even more. The first season was a lot closer to the film in that it was based on a guy getting in over his head and trying to get out of it. This season has a little of that element (Peggy/Ed killing Rye), but brings another bigger element (mob wars) to the table - while still keeping it's Fargo feel.

They have controlled everything. What is so unbelievable? You saw how the local cop reacted to them....

For some reason I loved how Nick Offerman the smartest/only lawyer in town pushed that bench in front of the doors--doors that opened toward the outside.

Offerman was incredible in this episode.

Fargo has had several scenes that perfectly balance the look of bravery and fear at the same time, but the scene in this episode was off the charts. Award worthy.

The scene with Dunst and Danson was just gold.

The smoke coming up as she zapped Dodd.

The use of Jabberwocky.

Just an amazing hour of television.

I really almost wish I could just watch it as a single movie. It would "play" as Scorsese would say

I'd like to be the voice of reason telling you all to calm the hell down, that it's not THAT great.

But I can't. Show is fucking brilliant. I had chills with the Jabberwocky bit. Then the shoutout at the Gerhardt's that I didn't see coming, but probably should have. Wow.

And yeah, Ron Swanson was absolutely on fire.

The detail this show goes to is insane. During the scenes over the end credits, Offerman opens a beer can and they went through the trouble of using the pull tab tops instead of the current cans. Shows don't ever bother doing that.

Mad Men did. Including using a churchkey to poke an extra hole in the can.

It's a nonsense poem from Through the Looking Glass, the sequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Re: Fargo (S2E06) - "Rhinoceros" - 11/16/15

The Jabberwocky sequence was brilliant. On the one hand, there's this serious montage of pending doom playing out on screen...along with a voice over of this poem, which essentially is a bunch of garbled words and non-words. Another example of how this show expertly toys around with tragedy and comedy.
