Yeah, there are some shops nearby, I'll check tomorrow. I thought the Ultimate Comics store was further away, plus I was interested in online shops in case I miss an issue (not sure how many copies of something like this they would've gotten in). I was looking at Midtown Comics online, seems like they aren't terribly expensive there and I think the shipping was $4, but I didn't see if there was any additional cost for multiple books. Though, there's really only going to be 6 issues, I don't think it should be drastically different than shipping one.

The new season is subtitled "The Gauntlet". Since it's premiering on Thanksgiving, the Turkey Day Marathon is on Sunday, November 18 this year:

The trailer for season 12 is up. It does reveal the titles for all 6 movies, in case you want to avoid that:

Season 12 was released on Netflix yesterday. I got through the first 4 before Thanksgiving dinner took over.
As with previous Turkey Days, I had it on continuously while doing various tasks to prepare for company/dinner, so I missed bits of every episode. I'll likely have to sit down and re-watch those 4 episodes later while my focus isn't so divided.
Anyone else watch, or planning to watch/binge over this weekend?

I watched Mac & Me and started Atlantic Rim, but I don’t think I can binge because I have a lot of school work over the next two weeks and I probably shouldn’t even be spending 80 minutes watching an episode.

Watched the first and really enjoyed it. Don’t really like binging these, prefer to savor a bit. Maybe one a day until I’m finished.

New Kickstarter for Season 13, fully funded in about 24 hours. Now the stretch goals for more and more episodes. The new thing this time is they are trying to fund an online streaming service of sorts to facilitate group watches.

I'm glad they are doing another Kickstarter to make new episodes but I honestly don't get the Gizmoplex concept. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Gizmoplex sounds like a live streaming service dedicated to MST3K. And given the fact that both Shout Factory and RiffTrax already have 24-hour streams on Twitch with a live chat, plus there's the 24-hour MST3K & RiffTrax dedicated channels on services like Pluto TV, it seems like the Gizmoplex is just re-inventing the wheel. And if they try to make the Gizmoplex a paid subscription service version of what's available free elsewhere, it'll probably eventually fail.

I get why they want their own service - the series has been bounced around to different networks it's entire life. I just can't understand why any of the existing services that are always hungry for content don't want to do this.

I thought the Gizmoplex would also be the location for their live internet shows and where they film the sketches and episodes.

Then, my impression is it's also going to have live premieres of new episodes, which will have a live chat feature. Think Youtube Premieres: pre-recorded video with advertised premiere date/time so you can watch it "live".
Then, also full live shows, like Youtube Live. They'll be live streaming, and there will be a chat for the audience.
Also, you can create your own watch parties of up to 10 people, watching a particular on-demand episode of your choosing.
So it's not just a stream like the Twitch and Pluto TV channels, but has additional features intended to provide unique viewing experiences not available elsewhere.

Re: KICKSTARTER: Bring Back MST3K - MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000
They just announced that Emily Marsh from the live tour will co-host the riffs this season, or rather take turns with Jonah hosting. Currently just about at the 6 episode stretch, and if it makes it to the next stretch, Joel has committed to return as a host for an episode. If the final goal happens, he will host two episodes.

Re: KICKSTARTER: Bring Back MST3K - MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000
This season, Emily Marsh – the newest host of MST3K LIVE – will join Jonah Ray to take turns hosting new episodes.
Now, don't worry: Jonah will still be trapped on the Satellite of Love with Tom, Crow and GPC, who will still be voiced by Baron, Hampton and Rebecca. But this time around, Kinga and Max have even bigger plans for global domination, and they involve having more than one test subject riffing movies, each from a different location.
Emily will be trapped in a new location with her own Tom, Crow and GPC, who will be voiced by their MST3K LIVE actors: Conor McGiffin, Nate Begle, and Yvonne Freese!
This is great news.
I was really hoping that they would give the gig to Emily, she is really good on those live shows they did.

Re: KICKSTARTER: Bring Back MST3K - MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000
I posted this in the other thread, but figured I’d update here, too.
The Kickstarter should pass the 3.3 million goal tonight, unlocking 6 episodes. In an update, Joel said that if they pass 4.4 million he’ll return to host an episode as Joel Robinson, and if it it’s 5.5 million he’ll host two episodes.
Also, Emily from the live tour will also be a host, with some of the episodes centering around her and her bots (also Tom & Crow, but different voices). So the next season will alternate between three hosts.

Re: KICKSTARTER: Bring Back MST3K - MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000
I'm happy that Emily Marsh is going to be hosting some. I've liked her in the streaming events they've done during the pandemic, and i was hoping she'd be involved in some way. I'm actually more exited Emily will be hosting some than Joel will be hosting at least one. I like Joel fine, but there's already dozens of episodes of him hosting, and I wasn't screaming for more. Still, the rotating roster of hosts and bots is likely a good thing for the show; you won't get bogged down, as a viewer, with only one riffing style for an entire season.
The Kickstarter reached the $3.3 million goal, so definitely at least 6 episodes.

Re: KICKSTARTER: Bring Back MST3K - MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000
Thinking about MST3K, I wonder about its live tour in 2019-20 - "MST3K Live: The Great Cheesy Movie Circus Tour" - and why there hasn't been a video release of the live shows. They had 2 movies that were rotated during that tour ("No Retreat, No Surrender" and "Circus of Horrors") and I expected that they would film a performance of each movie to later release for purchase and streaming, much like they used to do with some of Cinematic Titanic's live shows. But there's been nothing since the tour ended last year (and it ended in early March 2020 as planned, so not due to covid lockdowns which it barely missed). Disappointing that there's been nothing because I saw one of the live shows with "Circus of Horrors" (which was hilarious) but I really wanted to see "No Retreat, No Surrender" (I love riffings of martial art movies).
