I was expecting a more involved story arc with Sherlock's father. His opening introduction after years of build-up was rather timid. I'm sure he'll be revealed as a dastardly father at some point but I've been underwhelmed.

I guess they will never move this show away from its weekly procedural roots.

Elementary is moving to Sundays at 10pm. Sounds like this will be the last season.

Last night's episode was very good--the best they've had in quite a while. Probably because it was a stand-alone episode and not tied into the whole addiction/daddy-issues storylines they've been beating us over the head with.

Too bad, but it had a good run.

Are there any CBS shows which lasted more than a season, after being dumped to Sunday? (ie. Besides CSI Miami).

Ten pm just feels late for this show.

It was on death's door last season, so yes, this will be it. Lucy Liu certainly believes it will be the last season. She's already lost all the weight she had gained over seasons two and three in preparation for her next gig.

Lead actresses are very predictable when they know or believe the last season of a show is coming.

Completely agree, Elementary has never been very good with managing its running storylines and their impact on the weekly mysteries. The show has always been stronger when it focused on the mysteries and didn't have to worry about using guest characters.

It was the best episode of this season. I guess they introduced the young woman as possibly a recurring character but she's also a lead on Into the Badlands.

Could you be any more sexist?

The show doesn't exist of not for the running storylines. Drug addiction, his father, and Moriarty (who I hope comes back before the end).

I am really enjoying this season. I just finished the last 5 episodes this weekend. I really like the chemistry of the cast and the addition of Fiona.

I hope it gets renewed... or at least a half season to do a proper wrap-up if they don't do it in the next 9 eps.

I've enjoyed the last few episodes after not liking the first part of the season much.

TVbythenumbers has it as a 'toss up' for renewal right now, FWIW.

The addition of Fiona has been a welcome change. Funny how they say she has a disorder of some type, but Sherlock doesn't?

I just hope they get enough warning so they can wrap things up.

Unlike Fiona Sherlock isn't autistic. This being network tv, if the show continues and they keep her around she'll get markedly less so over time, just like Temperance Brennan did on Bones.

Well crap, I found the first few episodes of the season kind of tedious so I stopped recording it and watched the J-Liotta show on NBC which I don't really like either. I'll have to try to catch the last 2 or 3 episodes of Elementary

And the woman on The Bridge. But I wouldn't be surprised if they come out with Sherlock being slightly autistic or something. Very much like Hank on Parenthood.

Doubt it. There's nothing remotely autistic about the character on even the broadest spectrum.

I disagree. But we'll just have to wait and see.

Are all TV writers doing shrooms? Odd to see them twice this week. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Another good episode. I liked the subplot about how Sherlock and Joan had been bad neighbors.

Anybody else notice that upcoming episodes are being broadcast on Sunday? What's up with that?

I was watching the new "Criminal Minds International" last night and they had pop up ads for Elementary saying "New Night!" It's another indication that this is probably the last season.

CSI Cyber's season ended on Sunday. Rush Hour is taking over Elementary's timeslot on Thursdays, hence the schedule change.

Renewed for a 5th Season!

... and now I'm caught up again. I really like the direction that it's going now. Hearing names like Moriarty again is great.

Renewal is good news, I expected the bump to Sunday to be the death knell for the show.

That's a pleasant surprise. In addition to the schedule change, when they did a double header last month I thought it was a pretty good sign they were just burning off the finale episodes before it's cancellation.

Re: Elementary (CBS) -- Season 4 Thread -- premieres 11/05/15

Here's hoping the keep John Noble around for next season. He has been a welcome addition to the cast as it has helped bring some long running story lines into the show vs. the AARP procedural stuff that makes up far too much of this show.
