Didn't say it was my idea, just what they have suggested on the show. Her evil before perhaps being tempered by the shit show the royals put her through, and the care the grimm gang have shown....

Adelind is hot and on TV that's all that matters.

Re: Grimm (NBC) -- Season 5 Thread -- Premieres 10/30/15

I for one hope her and Nick get together but I'm just an old softy so what I think will happen is

Spoiler:
Adelind is the major character who is going to die and Rosalee and Monroe are going to take the kid in as Nick is going to be too involved with the Grimm business of whatever the new wessen foes are brewing up. I believe that the Keys will start playing a larger role or I hope they will cause they really haven't done much with them in four seasons

The thought makes me want to spit to get the bad taste out of my mouth. Totally unbelievable. This has just about ruined the show for me.

I had to rewind and pause it to get a look at her face... it is her, Juliette's back.
Right now I don't know if I like it, she was just annoying the last episodes she was in...

Curious what plans they have for her. Hopefully she is a bit more stable now.

I wish she would have stayed dead. Didn't like the reveal that she's still kicking.

Unfortunately, it was obvious it would happen. Sucks that it did.

Wow. So Juliet is back, she's a brainwashed, living vessen-weapon. Wacky.

What's going on?

Latest episode was pretty good (Feb 12). At first, I thought the episode would be Chinese New Year related, with varying wesen animals being sacrificed.

AFAIK, there is no "monkey vessen".

Re: Grimm (NBC) -- Season 5 Thread -- Premieres 10/30/15

I only thought that because they first showed the ox, even though you are correct about it being year of the monkey. Sometimes I have no idea where this show is going.

(and I just realized I said "vessen" instead of "wesen") haha

Latest episode was all kinds of awesome. Monroe rips two guy's throats out (I thought he was a vegetarian).

So we're back to the key again? When was the last time they brought that up? 3 years ago? Why go back to it now? Running out of ideas?

I think that they know there's a decent chance that this will be the last Season and want to wrap the Key storyline up.

That was a cool episode. They needed to address the keys at some point. They dropped it for so long.

I for one, am glad they're getting to the key sub-plot.

Re: Grimm (NBC) -- Season 5 Thread -- Premieres 10/30/15

I'm guessing the location in the Black Forest leads to some way to convert ordinary humans into 'wesen'. I can't imagine any other reason why the Black Claw group would want it so badly since it ties into their 'wesen dominate the world' plot.

I can't believe this show has lasted 100 episodes either but its been a fun ride and easy to watch diversion on Saturday mornings while nursing a hang over.

I had read somewhere that they wanted to answer the key question on episode 100.

This ep was 98.

We'll get episode 99 on 3/4 and the 100th episode on 3/11.

Re: Grimm (NBC) -- Season 5 Thread -- Premieres 10/30/15

I think that the show easily could have gone longer, but their strength was as a mostly procedural, with some serialization. But the writers fell into the trap of continually wanting to up the stakes and go as serialized as possible. The complete mess that's happened with Juliette is the most obvious example, but imo their ambition being too big to match their execution shows up in lots of other ways too, such as how easily the Council was destroyed or how inconsistently Adalind's character has been depicted.

"could have gone longer"

Are you predicting it will be canceled after this season?

My intention was to say that however long it does last now, it could have gone longer absent some of these moves.

As to whether or not it will be canceled then I think it possible, but I'm unsure. It's ratings are down, so it's not a lock like in previous years, but it's not terrible by that measure either. If the studio wants it to continue then I could see them cutting the cost to NBC. Perhaps NBC might order a short season, maybe try it at 10pm. They already renewed 7 dramas, and the unrenewed The Mysteries of Laura is doing better on it's night. They could decide to move that to Fridays and change the focus of that night? Or they might do better in the ratings by going to all news specials. Right now I really think it could go either way.

OMG!!! We finally found out what the keys were for!!! A stick.

A piece of the Tree of Life? I guess we'll find out what else it can do...

Oh and Adalind is a Hexen Beast again. Bummer.
