Completely surprised by what happened in tonight's episode. The fallout will be huge.

of course. Also, it's starting to be like the Walking Dead in this show: Only one black person allowed on the team.

Well... they didn't show any more of his body than his legs and feet and his skin was covered by his socks. Given that, I doubt he's the one on the ground. My guess is that May taught him a few things that he was able to use to fight off his attackers, one of whom dropped the gas can when he fell and it's him or the other one who's feet we see.

Strucker then fled, dropping the lighter on his way out. Look at the fear on his face as he crouched behind the car. That wasn't about the explosion, it was about what happened inside when things went south.

I hope it wasn't what it appeared, and I agree the way it was shot made it seem not so obvious.

Yeah, I have a feeling Andrew is still alive.

It's possible he could be Lash, and that's what scared Strucker-brat. Also notice that he was acting weird when he found out Coulson was using Lady Madrox without his knowledge...

He is definitely alive. Rolled my eyes a bit at Ward getting away again.

Planet story is interesting.

Not digging the new rival agency thing.

It seems possible; here's my reasoning:
  • Lash didn't kill Daisy when he had the chance.
  • We see Lash change into human form in the shadows, indicating it's likely someone we know.
  • Lash knows the names of the Inhumans, and sends the virus email right before the Shield Recruitment mission. Andrew likely would be briefed of the people being recruited before the mission is executed. And as Josh-da-man pointed out, Andrew was upset about the Lady Madrox surprise.
  • Andrew left May suddenly, without calling or anything. And this was while on vacation in Hawaii, a place known for its seafood, right around the time Inhumans started popping up from ingesting fish with crystal particles in them.
  • Andrew didn't want to talk about why he left May while at Shield headquarters.
  • Andrew has not let any of the Inhumans Shield has rescued/recruited out into the field yet, aside from Daisy.
  • We didn't see Andrew's body, just a body and some blood.

I'm thinking it could be a Jekyll/Hyde situation with Andrew/Lash.

Perhaps Lash sees this new batch of Inhumans as somehow fake or illegitimate and sees Daisy, since she is the child of an Inhuman, as legitimate. That's why he didn't kill her.

Except we see Lash kill 3 Inhumans this episode that were specifically identified as being "pre-outbreak' Inhumans, and have been for a while. They'd been Inhumans longer than Daisy has.

Now I'm going to be disappointed when this turns out not to be true.

Another reason it makes sense. In the comics lash is black (or he looks black).

From the Wikia entry, notes on Lash's motivations. I put it in spoiler tags in an abundance of caution, but there's nothing really that spoilery about it.

Spoiler:
Born in the hidden Inhuman city of Orollan, Greenland, Lash was one of the few chosen among his generation to receive the gift of Terrigenesis, an honor he believed not every member of his race was due. When King Black Bolt activated a Terrigen Bomb above New York, flooding the world with Terrigen Mist and awakening the powers of Inhuman descendants living among humanity, Lash embarked on a mission to find all the individuals affected, and judge for himself whether they were worthy to live with their new abilities.

Honestly, I hope Andrew is dead and off the show. I didn't think Blair Underwood was bringing much to the show in his role as May's former husband. This is why I don't think Mutant Enemy has ever really understood superhero fiction. We didn't really need a three-dimensional characterization for May, who has been created as the uber SHIELD agent for the purposes of this show. That stuff worked far better on a show like Dollhouse.

Things have definitely approved this season, but i wish May stayed gone, had enough of that character

I don't mind the other agency.

I wish they would introduce some 'name' inhumans from the comics

We've got Lash. I would imagine that's about as good as we're gonna get. We're certainly not going to get any of the royal family ahead of the movie.

Currently my least favorite character. Show was better when she was gone.

It's clear the writers at SHIELD love May. Mutant Enemy has always had a penchant for developing the wrong supporting characters, going all the way back to Anya on Buffy.

hanshotfirst1138 10-24-15 02:17 PM

I doubt Whedon has had much involvement in this show, after the mediocre pilot he directed. After AOU and all of the rewrite work, he's probably locked in his basement determined never to work with Marvel again and getting years worth of sleep caught up on.

Disagree. I adore Ming-Na Wen and May. For a 52 year old woman, I absolutely love the physicality she brings. It's obvious she works her ass off for the action/fight scenes the role requires.

I prefer it if Andrew was indeed dead. I think he served his purpose and death would bring some urgency for May to seek capture/ seek revenge against Ward.

Looking forward to next week's episode about Jemma's time away.

I like May too, and they did a great job with her story last season. It has nothing to do with Mutant Enemy, Marvel even put her in the comics because she was popular.
