Re: The Amazing Race (S27E02) -- "Get In There and Think Like a Dog" -- 10/02/15

I've never seen this show but figured why not this season.

Anyway it looks like racers are eliminated by their own merit unlike Survivor where they get voted out, I like this better.

I'm already a fan of Cindy Chac. She looked amazing in that white bikini play her husband is a douche bag Doctor.
He was condescending to her while doing the puzzle in ep 1 and she pointed out he is used to talking to his nurses that way at work. My wife is a nurse and she said yep, typical "D" Doctor.

Anyway seems like a fun show.

Wow, 27 seasons and 14 years and you never had any inclination to watch it until now? You missed some great past seasons. It's won many Emmy's for best reality competition show. I enjoy this show much more than Survivor. As you said, the racers lose on their own as opposed to someone deciding it for them.

More or less, though occasionally a team will be booted because of things beyond their control like a delayed flight or bad taxi driver.

Sorry to see that team eliminated (not mentioning to avoid spoiling for those who may watch On Demand).

They were a lot of fun.

I've watched Survivor since season 2 but only started watching TAR a few years ago.

General etiquette is that things are fair game after broadcast.

Most inappropriate quote of the episode:

"I'm so damn proud of you I'm gonna cry. I made you! You came out of my belly! Woo!" -- Denise

Stupid DVR didn't record it so I had to watch on demand with the commercials.

Josh and Tanner bitching about Justin annoys me more than Justin himself.

It's probably a family name or something, but, given what happened in 1968, James Earl seems to be a slightly inappropriate name to give a child.

As much as I don't like team DudeBro ... I agree with them that Justin seems like he has the potential to be even more annoying.

Seriously how shocked could Mama Bates really have been when her son came out? That thought HAD to have crossed her mind once or twice.

Not really pulling for anyone yet, but obviously the #Newsanchors are very photogenic and good on TV.

Well that was stupid of the Texas guy to outrun the mom/son team to the finish mat - only to pull his hamstring. He knew he wasn't in last place, so what's the point?

The statue challenge looked so easy compared to the trash one! Haha

Spoiler:
teams can gang up against other teams by forcing one or two teams to do a (double) U-Turn (both sides of a detour). This almost always results in that team being eliminated.

I think the voiceover said TeamTexas thought they were racing for first even though they must have seen the green team leave before them so I don't know why they thought they were racing for first. It would be stupid if they got eliminated because of this dumb error.
It looked like the statue challenge was further away or had a long drive since the newcasters did that task very quickly but didn't look like they gained any ground.

Many teams have got lost on their way to the pit stop? Act like you are in first until you are told otherwise.

I suspect the dislike of Justin is more about what we don't see than the stuff we see on air. That whole rudely jumping into the middle of a conversation during the start of the leg was probably just a glimpse of the douche he is all day.

Some of it has been shown including his flabby gut dance when they won the volleyball match.

Justin seems like one of these contestants they cast every couple seasons who paints himself as an Amazing Race "superfan" and is constantly crowing about how he's going to "play the game" like all the other winners have.

Ha, I thought the same thing! Maybe "Lee Harvey" and "John Wilkes" were already taken by other family members.
