Is the "ro-but" pronunciation a real thing? The only other person I've heard say it that way is Dr. Zoidberg on Futurama. Goldberg/Zoidberg....coincidental?

The inevitable growth of the kids. To me it brought down Modern Family to an also ran. Orrantia is 21 and is really looking too mature to be a high schooler. Not sure how old the young lady is that plays Dana but she looks like she is going to be a very attractive woman. She is obviously blooming as well. Hopefully Adam can look like the loveable little dweeb for a while and not shoot up to like 6'1" next summer.

I thought the Predator gag worked better without them showing the comic (regardless of when it actually came out). I found it funnier that Beverly thought Predator was part of the Alien universe when it wasn't, but also knowing that it eventually would be.

Do yourself a huge favor and avoid looking up photos of the actress. She's definitely going for a look that won't be appropriate for a couple more years. Cue Chris Hanson gif.

This episode had to take place in the '90s. They watched Troop Beverly Hills (1989) at a previous annual sleepover. I'm guessing the earliest the VHS of that movie would have been out is late 1989.

They've explained a few times that this show doesn't occur on a standard nor accurate timeline, it's an anachronistic mash-up that basically exists for nostalgic reasons (and if they want to goof on something). The show progresses forward, the references and details are not chronological.
