I actually do follow both of them on twitter and saw that post but it was awhile ago and it didn't stick to my brain parts.

I have to say I am a huge Goldberg's fan - but something about the whole 'Adam going through puberty' thing just changes the whole dynamic of the show for me. I hope either I get used to it, or it gets better.

Yeah they kinda have to play the cards they're dealt.

Is the "ro-but" pronunciation a real thing? The only other person I've heard say it that way is Dr. Zoidberg on Futurama. Goldberg/Zoidberg....coincidental?

Also, minor plot quibble, but Barry had to have seen regulation height baskets at some point in his life.

I've heard that mispronunciation before.

I had a friend in high school that said picanic. "Carl, it's a picnic." That what I said, picanic.

Did anyone else notice the change in vocals to the theme song?

That Dark Horse Aliens vs. Predator comic book came out in 1990.

The inevitable growth of the kids. To me it brought down Modern Family to an also ran. Orrantia is 21 and is really looking too mature to be a high schooler. Not sure how old the young lady is that plays Dana but she looks like she is going to be a very attractive woman. She is obviously blooming as well. Hopefully Adam can look like the loveable little dweeb for a while and not shoot up to like 6'1" next summer.

"Your wife is nuts"

I thought the Predator gag worked better without them showing the comic (regardless of when it actually came out). I found it funnier that Beverly thought Predator was part of the Alien universe when it wasn't, but also knowing that it eventually would be.

Do yourself a huge favor and avoid looking up photos of the actress. She's definitely going for a look that won't be appropriate for a couple more years. Cue Chris Hanson gif.

This episode had to take place in the '90s. They watched Troop Beverly Hills (1989) at a previous annual sleepover. I'm guessing the earliest the VHS of that movie would have been out is late 1989.

Barry's line about no longer being the only one in the house having to take his pills in cheese killed me

This show is still running on all cylinders.

Barry: "Dad! I'm still alive! It's a miracle!"
Murray: "Go ask your mother."

Shocking newsflash!
Spoiler:

This show isn't big on authenticity.

I thought they kinda left it hanging that Beverly took the fall for Adam spying on his sister and her friends.

Is it wrong to say that Hayley Orrantia looked really hot in that Phillies uni?

I know they've gone to the well of Beverly dropping a pixelated and bleeped-out F-bomb in nearly every episode, but her "It's Thanks-fucking-giving!" had me rolling.

No kidding. She's younger than my daughter so the guilt is there, but it doesn't change the hotness factor.

Beverly +1

If the grandfather was 80 years old and born in 1903, then the year had to be 1983 or 1984, but they were gonna see Mad Max:Beyond Thunderdome which came out in 1985.

And Top Gun came out in 1986. What's your point?

They've explained a few times that this show doesn't occur on a standard nor accurate timeline, it's an anachronistic mash-up that basically exists for nostalgic reasons (and if they want to goof on something). The show progresses forward, the references and details are not chronological.
