South Park S19E01 -- "Stunning and Brave" -- 9/16/2015

I'm not usually an episode thread starter but I didn't see one for tonight's South Park premiere. Season 19 starts tonight with "Stunning and Brave". Here's a teaser.

I'm always excited for new South Park.

Some of the past seasons are cheaper than ever on Blu-ray. Paramount seems to have quietly dumped much of their South Park inventory for dirt-cheap prices.

They're all free on South Park Studios. I think that Hulu premium has them all too.

Hysterical and totally relevant with today's cross-fit minded super PC college kids. Loved the Tom Brady bits as well.

Especially the hot wife, who's not that hot because she sorta looks like a dude, part.

So, is this going to be like last season with a continuing season-long story arc?

I think I must have missed something because I just didn't get this episode. What was the deal with the pregnant ladies, tacos and refugee kids? What was that suppose to prove? And how did that all get carman off scott free like tom brady?

Re: South Park S19E01 -- "Stunning and Brave" -- 9/16/2015

I think they were taking shots at themselves/SP. You can say and make fun of things in extremely racist ways, for example, if you are also trying to shed light/understanding on the topic (e.g., racism). So, they can have their cake (being un PC) and eat it, too (being able to get away with it and not slammed or called out). Re: Brady, he is a piece of shit cheater, who has even sort of admitted it, but is still loved and called a great QB and 'winner' (and bangs his hot sorta dude-wife).

This one. Her face often strikes me as a bit manly, and the SP writers, too, apparently...Sort of the Steffi Graf syndrome.

For every bad photo you find I can find a million good ones. Regardless of how much Trey and Matt don't like Tom Brady it's a cheap shot to go after his wife. I realize that's what they do, but they can do better.

The quality of the picture has nothing to do with it.

And, she is a super model, globally more famous than he is ..her looks are as fair game as pretty much anything....

I'm right with you. I guess maybe Cartman didn't have to serve his four days suspension even though he was hospitalized for who knows how long? Maybe it was a metaphor for Tom Brady getting out of his suspension punishment, but his reputation took a beating.

For me this was one of those episodes that just didn't jell. I hope it's just setting up an ongoing story for this season.

Great start to the season. Lots of funny stuff.

The great thing about South Park is that it's a show built on making fun of the absurdness of our society and, lately, our society has been giving Matt and Trey A LOT of material. That's why they've been able to stay so relevant into their 19th season.

Certainly seems that way. Keeping that PC Principal around will bring about a lot of gems this season.
