At first I thought this might be really good, just because NPH is talented and there hasn't been a traditional variety show on TV for years. But then when I read more about it in EW I thought it sounded awful (YouTube type videos and pranks).
So I'm interested to see if it is either going to be really good old-school variety show or new-school reality show dreck.

Egad, this was terrible.
Is him following some couple on their honeymoon supposed to be entertaining? I'm sure the couple thought it was funny, but I sure didn't care.

Awkward, forced, lame jokes, bits that feel recycled from other shows, shameless NBC cross-promotion, frickin' karaoke!? A practical joke that if genuine says more about the intelligence of The Voice hosts than anything else. What a dud.

And why on earth did Reese Witherspoon agree to play such a ditzy blond version of herself? She is an intelligent woman with a respected career and she was acting like her Elle Woods character even though she was supposed to be herself.

him being involved in all the wedding stuff, was really creepy to me, especially decorating the bedroom, yikes.

Pretty sure she already did the damage control by playing a heroin addict and producing Gone Girl. And then lost most of that with this and Hot Pursuit.

I didn't watch it, but what were they thinking with the horrible show title? I wish program execs would consider that a bad title automatically dooms a show (what was the one last year...Selfie?). They could have gone with something like The Neil Patrick Harris Show or NPH Live and given themselves a fighting chance.
I guess it took NBC to come up with an NPH failure. ABC and CBS seemed to do alright by him.

I didn't think it was all that bad. I actually enjoyed the prank stuff. The stunt part was okay, but I thought they needed some background music or something to better sell the action. The karaoke fell flat for me, as the Skype element added nothing to it. Plus I hate that fricking song.
Reese was fine here, but Nicole Scherzinger... ehhh, never really liked her. She always feels phony to me in these things.

We thought it was good. Liked the prank but seemed to fall flat at the end of it.
