I almost scooped out my eyeballs from the Office spinoff pilot

These are the sitcoms that I would watch as mainly just a "Thursday Night Only" watcher of NBC:

My "Must See TV":
Seinfeld
Friends
Frasier
Parks and Recreations
30 Rock
Cheers (only the Shelley Long seasons)
The Office (only the Steve Carell seasons)
My Name Is Earl
Taxi (I guess it technically counts even though most of its run was on ABC with only its final season being on NBC)

My "Must Avoid TV":
The Cosby Show (yeah, I was anti-Cosby before it was cool)
Night Court
Mad About You
Wings
and most of the sitcoms NBC tried to launch at 8:30pm or 9:30pm on Thursdays


I also made Thursday night as my laundry night due to how NBC did their schedule with 30-minute crappy sitcoms between the shows that I watched.

So my Thursday night schedule was this for a number of years:
- Before 8:00pm: load and turn on washing machine
- 8:00 - 8:30pm: watch "Friends"
- 8:30 - 9:00pm: while "crappy sitcom #1" is on, move laundry from washer to dryer, and put 2nd load in washing machine
- 9:00 - 9:30pm: watch "Seinfeld" (later "Frasier")
- 9:30 - 10:00pm: while "crappy sitcom #2" is on, removed clothes from dryer (if dry) and/or move 2nd load to dryer
- 10:00 - 11:00pm: watch "ER"
- After 11:00pm: unload dryer and then fold or hang laundry

Seinfeld is the high water mark, and the only sitcom with a laugh-track I can still watch.

I really liked Scrubs - one the first sitcoms where you realize that if it's well-written and well-acted enough, you don't need a studio-audience/laugh-track.

The Office was really good until Steve Carell left.

30 Rock was fantastic all the way through.

The last great show they had was Parks & Recreation, which started off shaky, but got really great and stayed great throughout it's run.

They really don't have anything good on right now.

I liked all the obvious ones, Cheers, Seinfeld, Friends, Mad About You, Wings, Office, etc. and most of the "Must See TV" filler like Single Guy and other bombs.

The few I could never get into though were Will and Grace, 3rd Rock from the Sun and Frazier. Cheers is probably my #1 favorite comedy but they changed the character of Frazier too much for my liking. Plus the constant Niles/Daphne nonsense dragged on way too long.

I read this list and thought, I really never watched any of these and then remembered that Heroes was really the first show NBC ever had that I wanted to watch. They have a couple now, not much of a major network for shows.

I have never watched a sitcom on CBS and ABC in the late 80's and early 90's but that is about it.
