HOMELAND season five will pick up two years after Carrie Mathison's (Danes) ill-fated tenure as Islamabad station chief. Struggling to reconcile her guilt and disillusionment with years of working on the front lines in the "war on terror," Carrie finds herself in a self-imposed exile in Berlin, estranged from the CIA and working as the head of security for a German philanthropist. HOMELAND is currently in production in Berlin, and is the first American TV series to shoot entirely in Germany. Produced by Fox 21 Television Studios, HOMELAND was developed for American television by Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon, and is based on the original Israeli series "Prisoners of War" by Gideon Raff. Along with Gansa and Gordon, the executive producers for season five are Meredith Stiehm, Patrick Harbinson, Chip Johannessen, Alexander Cary, Lesli Linka Glatter, Gideon Raff, Avi Nir and Ran Telem.

Last season was actually really good, but most here hated the season finale because it was so low key. It wasn't the typical big "event" episode like most finales are.

First episode will really have to impress me to keep it going on my box. That last season was a big meh.

I like how the CIA has the "CIA" tagged on the end of all their file names.

I dunno...I think HOMELAND may be on its last legs. I really liked last season until the very end (that last episode was a real drag), but that trailer didn't really excite me.

BTW, did they EVER find the mole from Season 1 & 2 that was supposed to be in the agency? They had Saul fail his lie detector test suggesting it might be him, then...nothing.

I ran out of steam last season and stopped watching at some point where Saul was being dragged through the desert over and over again. Suppose I should finish it up sometime. I pay $11 a month for Showtime and watch nearly nothing on the channel.

You should try picking up Ray Donovan. It's great. Liev Schreiber and Jon Voight are fantastic on it. It's 3 seasons in, but you can watch it via Showtime anytime. All seasons are there.

As for Homeland, it got really good after the part that you mentioned. As I said earlier, the season finale is very low key and many here thought it was disappointing even though the season arc was wrapped.

Looking at the trailer footage, looks like we'll be seeing more Quinn action...hopefully this season.

I'll tune in, but am not going in with terribly high expectations. Thought that first trailer was rather 'meh'.

Season 1 is one of the best seasons in the history of Cable Drama, IMO.

Season 2 started was OK, but the Brody stuff was starting to hamper the show.

Season 3 was terrible as I almost tuned out.

Season 4 was the best season since Season 1, most shows don't find their groove again after the quality dips.

Looking forward to Season 5, but there is only so much drama you can conjure up with Carrie's story at this point as they have exhausted most of her mental health stuff in previous seasons. I have to say that Quinn has been a nice addition to the show as he is my favorite character at this point.

I would like to see a spin off of the Quinn character. It would be him and Jack Bauer teaming up and going on missions in the Middle East.

Or he could cut Showtime now, resubscribe when Twin Peaks starts and save $100 or so.

You can also get Showtime Anytime for $9 a month through Hulu, if you subscribe to that.
