My speculation is that with Westworld sidelined this year, Curb will serve as the fall anchor show.

Looks like we have a premiere date! October 1st, according to JB Smoove.

JB Smoove’s appearance at the Roots Picnic Saturday night was pretty, pretty good.
After taking the stage in Philadelphia alongside singer Amanda Seales to introduce The Roots, Smoove revealed that the new season of HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm will premiere on Sunday, October 1, according to my colleague Dan DeLuca.

I'm so hoping this gets a full 10 episodes. I'm hopeful because Oct. 1 means a full season would end a little before Christmas.
Can't wait until HBO announces what we're getting.

Can't wait for this to return and having a date means I can finally allow myself to believe it is really happening.

Awesome news!! 10 episodes. Can't fucking wait.
Hard to believe it was 2011 the last time the show was on.

I forgot was Cheryl on the last season? I remember the Seinfeld season where Larry tried to get her back when she was playing George Costanza's wife, but I couldn't remember if she was on the final season in 2011?

She was just in the first episode, where they get divorced.

Yeah, no loss there. I get that she served as the (very) non-comedic contrast for Larry's bizarre thoughts and behaviors. But after a time she was completely unnecessary and only served to kill episode momentum. Her diminished role frees Larry up for more time spent with better performers.

I hope we get a lot of JB Smoove this season. I love when he and Larry are on screen together.

I totally forgot how that went down as I had to back and watch the episodes that led to the divorce. The downfall of their marriage started when Larry had the TIVO technican over and Cheryl called from a plane in bad weather that was possibly going to crash. Larry, "Let me call you back Cheryl, I got the TIVO guy here and you know how hard it is to get them out to the house!"

This season on Curb Your Enthusiasm, Larry David will be taking one of his many grievances to court… and he’s inviting another TV star to pass judgment on him.
The long-awaited ninth season of Curb finally arrives this fall after a six-year hiatus, and in a hilarious trailer screened for reporters at HBO’s Television Critics Association summer press tour — it’s not available online yet, sorry — we see Larry struggling with a soap dispenser in the shower, chiding a couple for their public PDA (“You’re allowed to be happy… but not in front of me”) and asking a mourner at a funeral to dial down her sobbing: “It’s way too loud.” Plus, Larry appears on the daytime courtroom show Judge Judy (!), accusing an old lady of trespassing and stealing his ficus plant.
And Judge Judy isn’t the only famous face we’ll see in Season 9: Larry’s primary co-stars — Cheryl Hines, Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman and J.B. Smoove — are all back, along with familiar faces like Richard Lewis, Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen and Bob Einstein (aka Marty Funkhouser). Plus, the new season brings with it a fresh slate of guest stars, including Bryan Cranston (as, we believe, Larry’s therapist), Lauren Graham, Jimmy Kimmel, Nick Offerman, Elizabeth Banks, Ed Begley Jr., Carrie Brownstein, Nasim Pedrad and Elizabeth Perkins.
So why bring the show back after such a long break? David’s short explanation: “Why not?” But he added, on a somewhat sentimental note: “I’m not a miss-er. I don’t really miss things [or] people that much. But I was missing this, and I was missing working with these idiots… so I thought, ‘What the hell?'” Plus, “I got tired of people asking me about it.”
David had a room full of TV reporters laughing at his every word, like when he patiently explained why his Curb character plays so much golf: “TV Larry is just about a quarter of an inch away from Real Larry. Real Larry golfs, so TV Larry golfs.” When a reporter asked if he ever notices people avoiding him in real life, he grumbled: “Unfortunately, they don’t avoid me.” And he flatly rejected any comparison between his Curb character and Donald Trump: “I don’t consider myself a prick.”

So apparently the hackers have leaked a few episodes of this already. I don't know what they hope to accomplish. Game of Thrones is already the most pirated show out there and HBO seems to be doing just fine. It's not like this is going to hurt them. If anything it will build more hype.
I really hope they don't pay.
