I know, I was just saying no to your other theory.

All these posts are yours (to read).

Except Spoilers.

Attempt no reading, there.

Seriously, don't.

Almost every character on this show is kind of an asshole.

HUGE Finale Spoiler warning for those that haven't seen season 4.
Spoiler:
I thought it was pretty final, and dark. It really appeared that they were taken out by the rip tide.

The only hope I had was that the description for season 4 had the phrase "They need each other to stay afloat," so that 'could' be a sign that they made it.

The horrific idea that I missed, when I first watched it, was that if they drowned, the kids may also have perished in the hot car. Although, the windows were down, so I think that may be a stretch. I have to convince myself of that much.

Yes, the 2nd theory I got... but it still didn't fully feel like a series ending... some aspects, yes - but not all.

Well, the tag-line in the online ads for the show says (spoiling just in case)...
Spoiler:
"When life pulls you under, let love keep you afloat"

That can't be a coincidence!

We've loved this series since s1. I didn't like what they did with Fergal this season, though. He was a scene stealer in S1 & S2 and my favorite character.

The show has been great and I wish we could get more. I'm sure they feel like they've exhausted it to an extent, though, and are ready to do something else.

Just finished, rough finale, decent final season... overall pretty good show...

I really loved the show. it was a pretty solid last season, wish there were more episodes per season as it was too easy to binge a season and be done.

For the Sharon Horgan fans out there there is an older show from 06-09 called Pulling that is almost a prequel story wise to Catastrophe the show follows Horgan as a single woman that just called off a wedding going onto the dating scene. Not as good as Catastrophe but the first season is pretty good. I had to track down DVDs from the library as its not on Netflix or Prime for free. It feels a little more like Peep Show than Catastrophe to me but its not bad and is only 13 episodes over 3 seasons (although I have yet to track down the final season single episode)
