The Whispers (ABC) - Season 1 Thread - premieres 6/1/15
We love to play games with our children. But what happens when someone else starts to play with them, too? Someone we don't know. Can't see. Can't hear. In "The Whispers," someone or something - is manipulating the ones we love most to commit the unthinkable. In the country's center of political power, Washington D.C., several kids have been talking about their imaginary friend, Drill. What the parents don't know is that this friend is not as imaginary as they think. And when the mysterious games Drill convinces them to play turn dangerous, FBI child specialist Claire Bennigan is called in to investigate. What is it that Drill wants, and why does he - or it - only communicate with children? As the clock counts down, a suspenseful race will begin to save not only their families, but the world. Before it's too late. The Whispers" stars Lily Rabe as Claire Bennigan, Barry Sloane as Wes Lawrence, Milo Ventimiglia as John Doe, Derek Webster as Jessup Rollins, Kristen Connolly as Lena Lawrence, Kylie Rogers as Minx Lawrence and Kyle Harrison Breitkopf as Henry Bennigan. The series is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank and Zack Estrin. The pilot was written and co-executive produced by Soo Hugh, who also developed the series. "The Whispers" is produced by ABC Studios, with Amblin TV as co-producer.

Re: The Whispers (ABC) - Season 1 Thread - premieres 6/1/15
I enjoyed it. Looks like there's an interconnecting thread between some of the characters.
Who is Drill? It?
Will be watching it. Of course I've enjoyed Wayward Pines too.
I'm a sucker for mysterious. Hopefully there is a resolution and not canceled.

Gave it a try, but dropped it after 30 minutes.
Only saw a few commercials and didn't read any reviews, so I was expecting ghosts. Looks like this will focus on aliens. No thanks - not interested.
It was good to see Autumn Reeser (the mom at the beginning)
The music scores were terrible in conjunction with the scene. Most of it sounded like Catch Me If You Can theme, which didn't fit the suspenseful scene. Awful.
EDIT - looked up who composed the pilot. Conrad Pope. He was an Orchestrator for Catch Me If You Can, whatever that means. I guess he liked that theme a lot to use it again.

Still feels too early to get much of a feeling whether or not this will be worth sticking with.

I actually enjoyed the show, and will stick with it. It debuted with good numbers last night, so it should stick around through the summer.

Still watching this and it continues to be surprisingly intriguing. Just found out online that it is an adaptation of Ray Bradbury's Zero Hour which I've read a long time ago but must have completely forgot about.

I started the latest episode this morning and asked myself...why the heck am I still watching this? This is the first time I think I'm going to quit a show with like 2-3 episodes left lol. I can't bring myself to do it. Even Under the Dome I started season 2! hah.

I stuck with American Odyssey through the end and I think it inspired to bail on this early. There was lots of other good shows on TV this summer that I didn't need filler crap.

I've had this sitting on my DVR, based on the early posts, but then nobody seemed to follow up after the initial episodes. In fact, I'm not hearing much at all, and I understand that ratings are just okay. I've been wondering if I should just delete it.

I'm binge-watching this and it's an enjoyable show. Too bad it looks like it's been canceled. No official announcement but word is they didn't take up their options on the cast, which pretty much dooms it.
