Also Richards is still in as EP.
I'm not into sports, so I wouldn't really know any of the sportscasters.

Richards is still EP, but he may not be much longer if the backlash continues.

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

Jennings makes sense. He was probably who they should have went with in the first place. I think he was favored by a lot of people, and given his history with the show and Alex he’s a good fit.

Please name Joe Buck permanent host so he never calls a football game again. I actually like him on Jeopardy.

I don’t think Buck would ever do it permanently. He and his family live in St. Louis.

They only tape two days a week. It wouldn’t be much different than him flying out to call games. I’m sure he would make more money calling baseball and football games though.

Wouldn't The Chase want him back? I'm not saying he can't do both, but AFAIK The Chase is a rival trivia show so I wouldn't be surprised if they want him to be exclusive to their brand.

The Chase recently brought in 'The Beast' (the dude from the long running British version), so they currently have 4 people. I had been wondering if that was the reason they had brought in the Beast, just in case Ken moved on.

Whoa! Just because you don't like him doesn't mean you get to foist him off on us.

I just don't care for him, so I'd be really bummed out if he ended up hosting. Fortunately I don't think it will happen.

My guess is that they brought in The Beast to attract interest from fans of the UK version. Also, since Labbett is a huge on the original show (figuratively and literally), he gives some added credibility to the US spin-off. I have to admit, as a fan of the original Chase, his addition to the US edition definitely has me more interested in seeing it.

Not sure if you knew this, but The Chase (UK) has six Chasers, so it wouldn't surprise me if the American version were trying to fill out its roster with new faces to broaden its appeal.

I have no doubt that the guy is an asshole and I am not shedding a tear that he isn't getting the job full time, but can we at least be honest and admit that he did a pretty good job when he did his guest hosting gig?

He easily did a better job than Burton but people are still falling over themselves claiming he should have it. I feel bad for whoever gets announced next (they can cry into their large paychecks.)

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

I read that Richards already has several episodes in the can. It's probably going to weird that he abruptly disappears and a guest host pops up.

As I mentioned in this thread before, I have a colleague who works for Jeopardy and has been there for 25+ years. Nice lady and she's filled me in on some of the hosts that were coming, but I don't feel comfortable asking her about this. She probably wouldn't want to talk about it either.

They film five in one day, so I cant image he would just do a few episodes and quit in the middle of the day.

I never implied that. That would be absurd. Obviously he quit on a non filming day. I meant say he shot 20 episodes and then all of the sudden episode 21 is a guest host with no set up to it. That’s what I meant by abruptly disappearing.

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

They’ll air with a disclaimer.

This is a high stakes contest with a lot of cash on the line. They can’t just skip them.
