Good episode. Everything wrapped up, starts to setup Legends and gives Arrow a clean slate.

Well that was interesting. I thought it was an OK finale for the most part. But it really felt more like a series finale than a season finale. How the heck is Oliver going to be the center of the show now?

Did Ollie just get shot by a rifle 2-3 times then shrug it off? Or did I miss something to explain that?

Obviously something bad will happen to spoil his retirement and he will be back

Oh no, Ray is dead!
Such a stupid thing to have happen since we know he's going to be in the new show. I liked Merlyn becoming the new Ra's. I also liked Thea showing up as Speedy. Outside of that, pretty ho-hum.
So Damien Darhk is going to be the baddie next year. Will be interested to see where that goes.

Oh no, RIP Ray
The nanities probably save him which will probably be addressed in the Pilot of Legends of Tomorrow.
Pretty good finale. It does start everything off on a completely clean slate next season.
I liked that John is still bitter about Ollie's behavior. At least they kept that realistic and didn't have them kiss and make up.
I guess Willa Holland will have a bigger role next season now that she's Speedy.
Kind of an erratic season, which I know some here hated, but I think it ended on a good note.
By the way, how the hell was Ollie able to travel to Central City on last nights The Flash and then travel back to Ra's layer and get on the transport plane to Starling? Some continuity issues there with The Flash.

Maybe FIRESTORM picked Ollie up.
I thought the front half of season 3 of good with the FLASH crossover and the sword fight with Ra's on the snow covers mountain being the best episodes.
Back half of season 3 was a mess.
Hope they can figure something out besides the city being destory.
They used that card 3 straight seasons.

Thinking of skipping Arrow next year, and the new one, and just replacing them with Supergirl. Definitely keeping Flash.
Thought this episode was boring.

Only real issue is that they want Flash to show up for a few and then say how he has to get back and cannot help for an hour or two to help a city not get destroyed.
Everyone in the city should just move or take a vacation each year about the same time since something bad has happened three times already.
Hope they can figure something out besides the city being destory.

I thought Flash's appearance was pretty funny. "This place has a hot tub?" "Thank you, Felicity, for revealing my secret identity to a super-villain." Grant is awesome at playing Barry with just the right tone and approach.
Considering how terrible the flashbacks have been this season, I liked this finale. They wrapped up the conflict with Ra's Al Ghul about as well as could be expected. Seeing Speedy/Red Arrow in costume was cool and they finally put Felicity and Oliver together for at least a little while.
I know she was in Wolverine but I never thought much of the actress playing Katana. I have to pin the lame flashbacks mostly on her.
This show needs to rely on its strengths going forward- Felicity's personality, the strong stunt and fight choreography, and nasty villains willing to kill without hesitation. I know I would have some villain take out Diggle's wife in the beginning of season four, starting the process to bringing him back in the fold.

Re: Arrow (S3E23) -- Season Finale -- "My Name is Oliver Queen" -- 5/13/15
This season gets a C from me. A lot of good stuff and an almost equal amount of bad, which coming off the stellar season 2 and the excellent Flash, feels like a comedown.
The problems for me:
I liked the actor playing Ra's, but the character's motivation felt completely obscure. I mean, what does the League of Assassins even DO? Felt like they spent the entire season running about chasing Queen or arguing about who's in charge.
Hate the Felicity - Oliver romance, which hasn't felt real for a moment to me. I could see Oliver and Sara, Oliver and Laurel, but Felicity isn't a romantic interest for him, and the actress has just gotten increasingly annoying.
Too many sidekicks - they got rid of Roy, but still, there's just too many people running around in Ollie's gang - Diggle, Nyssa, Merlin, Canary, now Speedy... A big reason the Flash works is that he's the hero and the rest are backup.
Awful flashbacks - This season's flashback was the worst yet. It only worked in an episode or two. And when you waste Marc Singer in a pointless, generic bad guy role, you have to question your life choices.
Enough with the Oliver quitting/leaving Star City. I count three times this season at least - the "death," running off to Ra's, then the finale. It's beyond cliched.
Been hard on it, but I still do enjoy the show - the actors are generally good, the fights are awesome, and Starling City feels like a real, interesting city. But good god, let's get a bit of focus back next season or Flash and (hopefully) the upcoming Legends show will wipe Arrow off the map.

Anyone else expect to hear the Cranberries when Ollie and Felicity were cruising at the end?
Given the ending of this episode, I hope the next season adopts this kind of tone:

Re: Arrow (S3E23) -- Season Finale -- "My Name is Oliver Queen" -- 5/13/15
I think season two's greatness made people forget how uneven Arrow began in season one. Season three finally embraced more conventions of the superhero genre- costumes, codenames, and sidekicks. That I liked a great deal. It did feel like they wasted using Ra's Al Ghul after he "killed" Oliver in the mid-season finale. The way they brought Oliver back was where things started going wrong. Their hesitation in using the Lazarus Pit as a plot device hurt the season's arc.
They have to figure out how to use Laurel's Black Canary with this team. She's taken her licks, I think it's time they let her be a bigger component of the team. She's a lawyer by day, so she is no dummy.

I think I am done.
IMO the show is at its best centering around the love/interaction of Oliver and Digg. Those scenes are the only time this show elevates to A material or anything comparable to Flash/Daredevil.
And Thea, Roy, and Laurel average out to about 5'4 and 110 pounds and they are dropping seasoned assassins left and right. It is off the charts goofy watching a strawweight take on and defeat multiple killers at the same time.
